Overview

A pallet of 33 TW Solar TWMNF-66HD730W modules, 24.09kWp in total. This TNC 2.0 module uses 132 half cells on full-size G12 wafers, which makes it 1,303mm wide: 2,384×1,303×33mm and 37.3kg. It delivers 730Wp at 23.50% efficiency with 49.55V Voc and 18.68A Isc, and 805.9W at 135W/m² rear irradiance. Its maximum series fuse is 35A; check that inverter inputs accept an Isc of 18.68A, or 23.00A at 300W/m² rear irradiance.

Technology

TW Solar is the module brand of Tongwei, which also produces polysilicon and cells. The modules in this range use Tongwei's TNC n-type monocrystalline cells (tunnel-oxide passivated contact), cut in half to lower resistive losses. All are dual-glass bifacial laminates with 2.0mm semi-tempered glass on both faces, an anodised aluminium frame and an IP68 junction box with three diodes, rated for 1500V DC and a bifaciality of 80±5% on Pmax.

Versions offered

The Tongwei installation manual groups the models by cell format. TWMND-72HD uses 144 half cells cut from M10 wafers in a 2,278×1,134×30mm module of 31.5kg. TWMNH-66HD has 132 half cells on G12R wafers in a 2,382×1,134×30mm, 32.1kg format. TWMNF-66HD uses 132 half cells on full G12 wafers, giving a wider module of 2,384×1,303×33mm and 37.3kg with a short-circuit current above 18A.

Packing quantities follow the format: 31 modules per pallet and 620 per 40ft container for the TWMND-72HD, 36 per pallet and 720 per container for the TWMNH-66HD, and 33 per pallet and 594 per container for the TWMNF-66HD. The datasheets also list output at 135W/m² rear irradiance and at rear gains of 5%, 15% and 25%.

Installation notes from the manual

Tongwei asks for at least 10cm between the module frame and the roof surface for ventilation, a tilt of at least 10° so rain removes dust, and the same angle for every module of a string. Clamp mounting needs at least four symmetrically placed clamps that overlap the frame by at least 10mm without touching the glass. Drilling the glass or frame voids the warranty.

For sizing cables, fuses and other equipment the manual multiplies the marked Isc by 1.25, and each parallel string must have its own fuse. Different module models must not be mixed in the same PV system. For offshore installations within 50m of the coastline Tongwei requires its dedicated offshore modules.
