Overview

This pallet carries 36 LONGi LR7-72HVH-655M modules, 23.58kWp. The 72-cell single-glass Hi-MO X10 Scientist uses 144 HPBC 2.0 half cells in a 2,382×1,134×30mm format and weighs 28.5kg. At 655Wp it reaches 24.25% efficiency, with 54.00V Voc, 15.37A Isc and 44.66V/14.67A at maximum power. As a monofacial module with a 25A series fuse rating and a -0.26%/°C power coefficient, it is aimed at large commercial and industrial roofs, where higher power per module means fewer pieces to mount and wire.

How the Hi-MO X10 works

Hi-MO X10 is LONGi's distributed-generation range built on HPBC 2.0 cells, a hybrid passivated back-contact design on n-type TaiRay wafers. Both polarities are contacted on the rear of the cell, so the front surface has no busbars or gridlines and more of the glass area collects light. LONGi rates the Scientist versions at up to 24.80% (72-cell) and 24.82% (60-cell) module efficiency.

LONGi also designs the cell layout to limit losses under partial shading and states, from IEC 61215 hot-spot testing, that shaded cells run markedly cooler than in conventional modules. The temperature coefficient of Pmax is -0.26%/°C and the Voc coefficient -0.20%/°C, which helps on hot roofs.

Versions offered in pallets

LR7-60HVH is the compact monofacial version: 120 half cells, 1,990×1,134×30mm, 24.5kg, 535–560W. LR7-72HVH uses 144 half cells in a 2,382×1,134×30mm format at 28.5kg and 640–670W, with 3.2mm coated tempered glass. LR7-72HVD has the same footprint in a dual-glass build (2.0+2.0mm semi-tempered), weighs 32.5kg and has a bifaciality of 70±5%.

All three are rated for 1500V DC systems, use an IP68 junction box with three bypass diodes and 4mm² output cables, and carry an anodised aluminium frame 30mm deep. A full pallet holds 36 modules; a 40ft high-cube container takes 720 of the 72-cell or 792 of the 60-cell modules.

Installation notes from the manual

LONGi requires at least 10cm between frame and roof surface when modules run parallel to the roof, at least 10mm between adjacent modules for thermal expansion, and the same orientation and tilt for all modules of a string. Modules can be installed in portrait or landscape orientation without blocking the drain holes, and the manual lists permitted bolt and clamp zones for each model with the matching test loads.

Modules with different electrical ratings must not share a string, and connectors of different brands or models must not be mated. Where more than two strings run in parallel, each string needs its own overcurrent protection. String length is calculated from Voc at the lowest expected site temperature, using the datasheet coefficient.

Handling and storage

Keep pallets in their original packaging in a dry, ventilated place until installation; for outdoor storage the packs must be covered against rain and kept off wet ground. Never lift a module by its junction box or cables, do not stand on modules, and use two people to carry them. LONGi does not allow drilling the frame, which voids the limited warranty.
