Overview

FlexHome-BAT5kWh-H is the 5kWh LiFePO4 battery module of the SolisStorage FlexHome-H high-voltage system. Each module contains 16 cells of 100Ah rated 51.2V; three to eight modules are stacked in series with one FlexHome-CB50A-H control module, which is required and not part of this module. A stack therefore covers 15 to 40kWh at 134.4–460.8V, with 50A continuous current, and four stacks can be paralleled for 160kWh. Housing is IP66 and C5-M with smart heating.

How it works

FlexHome-H is the high-voltage version of the SolisStorage stackable battery. A stack consists of one FlexHome-CB50A-H high-voltage control module and three to eight FlexHome-BAT5kWh-H battery modules connected in series. Each module contains 16 LiFePO4 cells of 100Ah, rated 51.2V, so the stack voltage rises with every module: 134.4–172.8V with three modules and 358.4–460.8V with eight.

The control module manages the stack, with charge and discharge balancing, state-of-charge estimation and online firmware updates, and talks to the inverter over CAN or RS485. Continuous charge and discharge current is 50A at every stack size, with a 75A peak for 10 seconds; depth of discharge can reach 100%.

Safety and environment

Each pack has over- and under-voltage, over-current and temperature protection, a DC breaker, DC fuses, an aerogel thermal insulation plate, a fire suppression spray that activates at around 185°C and pressure-relief valves. The metal housing is rated IP66 and C5-M, so the system can be installed outdoors. An integrated heating film keeps charging possible from -20°C: below 0°C the battery requests a small current from the inverter to heat the cells before normal charging resumes.

Installation and compatibility

Modules are stacked on a base, either floor-standing or fixed to a wall. A three-module stack measures 800×857×285mm and weighs 180kg including the control module; each additional module adds 189mm of height and 50kg. Up to four stacks can be connected in parallel for a maximum of 160kWh.

SolisStorage lists S6-EH3P(3-12)K-H, S6-EH3P(12-20)K-H, S6-EH3P(12-20)K-ND-H and S6-EH3P(8-12)K-LV-ND-H as compatible inverters, and FlexHome-(15-40)kWh-H appears in the Solis battery matching list for residential high-voltage inverters. Certifications listed include IEC 62619, IEC 63056, VDE 2510-50, UN 38.3 and IEC 62040.
