Overview

The X3-HYB-5.0-P is the 5kW model of SolaX's X3-HYB G4 PRO three-phase hybrid range. Two MPP trackers take one 20A string each, and SolaX recommends up to 10kWp of PV. It provides 5000W rated and 5500VA maximum output, two battery ports for 120–800V SolaX batteries with up to 50A combined, and an EPS output of 5kVA that doubles for 10 seconds. The IP66 unit weighs 38kg and is naturally cooled.

How it works

The X3-HYB G4 PRO links PV, high-voltage batteries and the three-phase grid. It has two independent battery terminals, so two battery clusters can be connected, each limited to 25A when both are used, or a single cluster on one terminal at 30A. With a 2-in-1 splitter cable, sold separately, one battery can use both ports for 50A. Battery voltage must be 120–800V per terminal.

Operating modes include Self-use, Feed-in Priority, Backup, Peak Shaving, TOU, EPS and Manual, plus microgrid and generator operation. During a grid failure the EPS output takes over in less than 10ms and can supply twice its rated power for 10 seconds. Up to three units run in parallel without accessories and up to ten with an X3-PBOX-150kW-G2.

Key features

The 4, 5 and 6kW models have two MPP trackers, the 8–15kW models three, each taking one string at 20A and 25A short-circuit current. The operating range is 110–950V with 1000V maximum and 120V start-up, and SolaX permits PV arrays of twice the rated power and AC output up to 110%. Maximum efficiency is 98.0% and European efficiency 97.7%.

Optional functions include rapid shutdown and arc-fault protection (AFCI); Type II surge protection is fitted on both AC and DC sides. The inverter supports wireless meters, smart schedules and scenes, 24-hour time-of-use control and VPP protocols. The 4–10kW models are naturally cooled, the 12 and 15kW models use smart fan cooling.

Installation and compatibility

The IP66 housing measures 560×503×210mm and weighs 38kg, with a wiring cover and additional ports to simplify installation; it works from -35°C to +60°C with derating above 45°C. The manual lists T-BAT-SYS-HV-3.0 and T58 or T58 V2 with 2–4 modules per battery terminal, T-BAT-SYS-HV-S50E-D and T58 V3 with 2–6, and the S25, S36 and S51 systems with 3–13.

Grid certifications include VDE 0126-1-1, VDE-AR-N 4105, G98, G99, AS 4777, EN 50549 and CEI 0-21, with safety to IEC 62109-1 and -2. SolaX publishes CEI 0-21 and CEI 0-16 certificates for the X3-HYB G4 PRO; the CEI 0-21 certificate includes configurations with T-BAT H V3 batteries for Italian low-voltage connections.

Monitoring and settings

Commissioning and settings are available on the inverter and in the SolaX app, and SolaXCloud provides monitoring and remote updates through a SolaX monitoring dongle. Interfaces are RS485, CAN, DRM and digital inputs and outputs. Night-time consumption is below 5W.
