Overview

The X1-HYB-5.0-LV-EU provides 5kVA output with up to 10kWp of PV on two 16A MPP trackers. The 48V battery input is rated at 120A, so 5500W can flow into or out of a SolaX LD53 or lead-acid battery bank. EPS backup carries 5kVA and 10kVA for 10 seconds, and the 9.2kVA AC input allows grid charging. Smart fan cooling is used in this power class.

How it works

The X1-HYB-LV-EU is SolaX's single-phase hybrid inverter for low-voltage 48V batteries. The PV side is transformerless, while the battery side uses a high-frequency isolated converter. It offers three working modes: Back Up keeps the battery charged for outages, Self Use stores surplus PV for later consumption, and Force Time Use charges and discharges in set time windows. Export control limits what is fed into the grid.

When the grid fails, the EPS output supplies the backup loads and can deliver twice its rated power for 10 seconds. Up to 40A can pass from grid to loads. A generator can be connected through the GEN port and controlled by dry contact, and up to three inverters can run in parallel in grid and off-grid operation.

Key features

Two MPP trackers take one string each at 16A (20A short-circuit) and work from 80V to 520V, with 550V maximum input and 110V start-up. SolaX recommends PV arrays up to twice the rated power, from 6kWp on the 3kW to 12kWp on the 6kW model. The battery input covers 40–60V at 48V nominal, with 75A on the 3.0 and 3.7kW and 120A on the 5.0 and 6.0kW models.

Maximum efficiency is 97.6% and European efficiency 97.0%. Type II surge protection is fitted on both sides, the battery terminals have temperature detection and AFCI is available as an option. The 3.0 and 3.7kW models are naturally cooled at 39dB(A); the 5.0 and 6.0kW models use smart fan cooling at up to 50dB(A).

Installation and compatibility

The IP65 housing measures 397×490×201mm and weighs 18–18.8kg, operating from -25°C to +60°C with derating above 45°C, up to 3000m. Leave at least 10cm free below the inverter for the cable connections. Battery power cables of 21–27mm² or 34mm² are required, and with the SolaX LD53 battery both the power line and the BMS communication cable must be connected.

SolaX lists its LD53 low-voltage battery and 48V lead-acid batteries for this series. Certifications include IEC/EN 62109-1/-2, EN 50549, VDE-AR-N 4105, VDE 0126, G98 and G99, and SolaX publishes a CEI 0-21 certificate for the X1-HYB-LV-EU with TP-LD53 for Italy.

Monitoring and settings

Settings are made on the LED and LCD display or in the SolaXCloud app. A SolaX monitoring dongle, WiFi or LAN, or optional 4G, connects the inverter to SolaXCloud for remote monitoring and updates, and firmware can also be updated by USB stick. Further interfaces are CAN, RS485, CT, meter and NTC.
