Who we areNew, original SolarEdge products with full manufacturer warranty, supplied with their documentation.
BAT-05K48M0B-02 is the current European part number of the SolarEdge Home Battery 48V module. It stores 4.6kWh of usable energy at 100% depth of discharge, rated at 4.85kWh when connected to new Home Hub Three Phase installations, and operates between 44.8V and 56.5V. One module charges at 2825W and discharges at 4096W; two or more modules reach 5000W in both directions. With five modules on one inverter the system reaches 23kWh. The 54.7kg module is rated IP65 for indoor or outdoor walls and carries a 10-year warranty.
The Home Battery 48V is a DC-coupled lithium iron phosphate module that connects to the battery input of a SolarEdge three-phase storage inverter. PV energy is stored without an extra AC conversion step, and the inverter controls charging, discharging and backup from the same platform that monitors the power optimisers. Each module works in a 44.8–56.5V window and has a 120A circuit breaker, two RJ45 ports for module-to-module communication and a separate CAN-bus port for the inverter link.
Usable energy is 4.6kWh per module at 100% depth of discharge; SolarEdge rates modules connected to new installations of Home Hub Three Phase inverters at 4.85kWh as of January 2025. A single module charges at 2825W and discharges at 4096W, while two or more modules reach 5000W in both directions. Peak round-trip efficiency is above 95.4%. Discharge power is derated above 40°C internal temperature and charge power below 15°C, where an internal heating routine uses part of the charging energy.
One inverter takes up to five modules, in a single tower or in two towers with no more than four modules each. Every tower needs a top cover, and SolarEdge recommends a floor stand under each one. Battery-to-inverter cable sets differ for Home Hub (SE*K-RWB48) and StorEdge (SE*K-RWS) inverters; module-to-module and tower-to-tower sets are ordered separately. The battery cable uses 35mm² conductors and may not exceed 5m. Check the exact inverter model in SolarEdge's compatibility matrix.
Each module is fixed to a wall with the supplied bracket, on a non-combustible surface, protected from direct sun, rain and flooding. Keep 20cm free on all sides, 30cm from other heat sources and doors, 25cm from windows and 100cm from emergency exits. Living and sleeping rooms, wall niches, spaces under staircases and sites above 2000m are excluded, and SolarEdge strongly recommends keeping 2m or more from gas installations.
Configuration is automatic through SetApp once the modules are switched on, and LEDs on each module show its status. State of charge, power flows and alarms then appear in the SolarEdge monitoring platform and app next to PV production. Backup operation is offered for residential installations only, is subject to local regulations and may need additional components and a firmware upgrade.
The module is rated at 4.6kWh usable. As of January 2025 SolarEdge specifies 4.85kWh for batteries connected to new installations of SolarEdge Home Hub Three Phase inverters.
Up to five modules, in one or two towers with a maximum of four modules per tower. Five 4.6kWh modules give 23kWh of usable energy.
SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter Three Phase (SE*K-RWB48) and StorEdge Three Phase inverters (SE*K-RWS), each with its own battery cable set. The supported inverter and battery combinations are listed in SolarEdge's compatibility matrix for three-phase inverters.
Yes. The enclosure is rated IP65/NEMA 3R for indoor and outdoor use, but the battery must be protected from direct sun and rain and operated between -10°C and +50°C.
One top cover per tower, the battery-to-inverter cable set for the inverter type, a module-to-module cable set for each additional module in a tower and a tower-to-tower set for a second tower. A floor stand per tower is recommended.
