Overview

The Sigen PV 50M1-HYB is a 50kW commercial hybrid inverter with a built-in backup port: in an outage it keeps critical loads supplied with 0ms switchover and 75kW for 10 seconds. Four MPP trackers accept up to 100kWp of PV, and the battery port works with a SigenStack of 4 to 21 BAT 12.0 modules through a BC-BST controller at up to 55kW. In grid mode up to 83.6A passes through to the loads. Sigenergy recommends a 100A AC switch and 70mm² copper grid cable without a Sigen Gateway.

  • 50–125kW, 380/400V three-phase, 4–8 MPPT
  • Built-in backup port, 0ms load-side switchover
  • Up to 150% overload for 10s off-grid
  • SigenStack 4–21 BAT 12.0 via BC-BST controller
  • Up to 220kWp PV, 40A per MPPT
  • IP66, smart air cooling, rated to 5,000m

How it works

Sigen PV M1-HYB inverters add an on-grid/off-grid backup port to Sigenergy's commercial hybrid platform. The grid connects to one AC port and critical loads to the other; during an outage the inverter keeps the loads running from PV and a SigenStack battery with 0ms load-side disruption. The battery, 4 to 21 SigenStack BAT 12.0 modules, connects through a SigenStack BC M2-0.5C-BST or M2-1C-BST controller.

Up to three HYB inverters can share a backup system using their internal gateway function, or up to 50 with an external Sigen Gateway that also manages smart breakers, smart loads and a diesel generator. The current datasheet is marked preliminary, so final values should be checked against the latest Sigenergy release before ordering.

Key features

In grid mode the HYB passes grid power through to the loads, up to 83.6A on the 50kW model and 183.8A on the 110kW model, and accepts up to 160kVA from the grid on the 80–125kW sizes. Off-grid it supplies its nominal power continuously with 10-second peaks of 75kW to 150kW. Each MPP tracker takes two strings at 40A between 160 and 1,000V, and maximum efficiency is 98.6%.

Installation and compatibility

All sizes share a 1,097×668×340mm housing weighing 102–108kg, with smart air cooling and IP66 protection for -30 to +60°C up to 5,000m, derating from 4,000m. Without a Sigen Gateway the AC terminals accept up to 300mm²; Sigenergy recommends copper grid-port cables of 70mm² for 50kW and 150mm² for 80–125kW, and load-port cables of 25mm², 70mm² or 95mm² for the 50, 100 and 110kW models.

Each inverter feeding backup loads needs its own AC switch rated at least 500V: 100A for 50kW, 200A for 100kW and 250A for 110–125kW. With a SigenStack and PV on the same inverter, string open-circuit voltage must exceed 805–935V when 19–21 battery modules are installed. VDE-AR-N 4110/4120 and Austrian TOR Typ A certificates cover the M1-HYB series.

Monitoring and settings

Communication uses Fast Ethernet, WLAN, RS485 or a Sigen CommMod 4G module, with a Sigen CommBridge for runs up to 800m. In mySigen and Sigen Cloud the plant runs self-consumption, time-based control, full feed-in, Sigen AI or remote EMS modes. One dry contact is reserved for diesel generator connection and another for smart loads or on/off-grid control.

Questions and answers

What is the difference between M1-HYA and M1-HYB?

The HYB adds a backup load port with 0ms switchover and 10-second overload capability, so critical loads stay powered during outages. HYA models are on-grid hybrid inverters without a backup port.

Can several HYB inverters supply backup loads together?

Yes: up to three units using the internal gateway function, or up to 50 units with an external Sigen Gateway.

Which SigenStack controller is required?

HYB inverters use the SigenStack BC M2-0.5C-BST or M2-1C-BST battery controller, with 4 to 21 BAT 12.0 modules per inverter.

Can a diesel generator be integrated?

Yes. Sigenergy's backup layouts let a generator work with the Sigen Gateway, and the inverter's DO2 dry contact is reserved for generator connection.
