GoodWe GW50K-ET-1050kW three-phase hybrid inverter for C&I storage, 4 MPPT

Overview

The GW50K-ET-10 is the 50kW flagship of GoodWe's ET50 series. Four MPP trackers rated 42/32/42/32A take up to 75kW of PV, and the 100A high-voltage battery input moves up to 55kW in either direction. Off-grid with the STS200-80-10 cabinet it delivers 55kVA, 60kVA for 60 seconds and 75kVA for 10 seconds. Paired with Lynx C or BAT-AC batteries it suits sites with peak-shaving or backup needs; up to ten units can be combined via SEC3000C.

How it works

The ET50 series brings GoodWe's hybrid concept to commercial and industrial sites. One unit combines three or four MPP trackers, a 100A high-voltage battery input (200–800V) and a 40 or 50kW grid connection, and its energy management covers self-consumption, backup, time-of-use, delayed charging under export limits, demand control (peak shaving) and off-grid operation. Charging and discharging reach 44kW on the GW40K-ET-10 and 55kW on the GW50K-ET-10.

Backup and off-grid operation are provided together with the GoodWe STS200-80-10 static transfer switch cabinet, which the manual lists as mandatory for the off-grid function. Off-grid, the GW50K-ET-10 sustains 55kVA, 60kVA for 60 seconds and 75kVA for 10 seconds. GoodWe limits the total motor load per inverter to 25kW and asks for a VFD on single three-phase motors of 8kW or more.

Key features

The trackers take 42A and 32A alternately (55A and 42A short-circuit) with two strings each, so modern high-current modules can be connected directly. The MPPT range is 165–850V at a maximum of 1000V. Maximum efficiency is 98.1%, European efficiency 97.5% and battery-to-AC efficiency 97.7%. Type II surge protection is fitted on both sides, with Type I+II DC protection and AFCI as options.

Installation and compatibility

Approved GoodWe batteries are the Lynx C cabinets LX C101-10 to LX C156-10 (BMS version 25600 or later), the BAT-I-G10 series from 25.6 to 56.3kWh and the BAT-AC-G10 series of 92.1 to 112.6kWh. With LX C101-10 or LX C120-10 the GW50K-ET-10 cannot reach full power. CEI 0-21 and CEI 0-16 certificates cover the series with Lynx C and BAT-AC batteries.

A GM330 meter is supplied for standalone operation, with CTs sourced from GoodWe or locally. Up to ten inverters can be paralleled through the SEC3000C smart energy controller, each fitted with a WiFi/LAN Kit-20. GoodWe recommends grid and backup breakers of at least 80A (GW40K-ET-10) or 100A (GW50K-ET-10) and, where required, a type A RCD of 500mA on the grid side.

Monitoring and settings

Set-up is done locally with the SolarGo app and remote monitoring runs on SEMS+. Portal communication uses RS485, Wi-Fi, LAN and Bluetooth, with 4G as an option; the BMS link is CAN and the meter link RS485. In parallel systems the SEC3000C embedded web interface is used for commissioning, and GoodWe publishes a third-party EMS Modbus protocol for integration.
