Overview

A full 40ft high-cube container of 720 LONGi LR8-66HGD-615M modules, 442.8kWp in total, loaded as 20 pallets of 36, the container quantity LONGi gives in the datasheet. Each module is rated 615Wp at 22.8% efficiency, with 48.58V Voc and 16.00A Isc, and gains rear-side yield with 80±5% bifaciality. At 32.5kg per module the shipment carries about 23.4t of modules, so plan unloading and site storage for 20 pallets of 2,382mm long modules.

How the Hi-MO 7 works

Hi-MO 7 is the bifacial line LONGi developed for large plants, aimed at sites with reflective ground, high ambient temperatures, limited space or high labour costs. The LR8-66HGD version arranges 132 half cells (6×22) in a 2,382×1,134×30mm module, with power classes from 595W to 625W and module efficiency from 22.0% to 23.1%.

The cells use LONGi's HPDC design: a dual-junction structure with different passivation on the front and rear surfaces to cut carrier recombination. LONGi links this to higher Voc, lower degradation and a Pmax coefficient of -0.28%/°C. With 80±5% bifaciality, the datasheet shows a 610W module reaching 671W at 10% rear-side gain and 734W at 20%.

Electrical and mechanical data

Every power class is rated for 1500V DC systems under IEC and UL, with a 35A maximum series fuse, protection class II and fire rating IEC Class C / UL type 29. The Voc temperature coefficient of -0.23%/°C is the value to apply when checking string voltage at the coldest expected site temperature against the inverter limit.

The laminate combines two 2.0mm heat-strengthened glass sheets with an anodised aluminium frame 30mm deep, an IP68 junction box with three bypass diodes and 4mm² cables. Each module weighs 32.5kg. LONGi rates it for 5400Pa front and 2400Pa rear static test load, and for 25mm hailstones at 23m/s.

Mounting and wiring rules from the manual

The distributed-generation manual approves LR8-66HGD for bolts through the outer four holes or clamps placed 500–600mm from the frame ends. With rails crossing the long frame both reach 5400Pa front and 2400Pa rear; with rails parallel to it the front value is 3600Pa. Design load equals test load divided by a 1.5 safety factor.

Leave at least 10cm between frame and roof on roof-parallel systems and 10mm between neighbouring modules. Clamps must be at least 50mm long, overlap the frame by 10–12mm and never touch the glass. Do not mix electrical ratings in one string or mate connectors of different makes; with more than two parallel strings, fuse every string.

Pallets, containers and warranty

LONGi packs 36 modules per pallet, 144 per 20ft GP and 720 per 40ft high-cube container, which is 20 pallets. Keep packs dry, ventilated and covered until installation and never carry modules by the junction box or cables. The product warranty runs 12 years; power is guaranteed at 99% in year one, then falls by no more than 0.4% a year to at least 87.4% in year 30.
