Overview

A full pallet of 37 Aiko Neostar 2P+ AIKO-A475-MAH54Dw modules, 17.575kWp in total, which matches the 37-piece pallet in Aiko's datasheet. Each module is the top bin of the 2P+ range: 475Wp at 23.8% efficiency, 41.24V Voc, 14.35A Isc and 34.80V at maximum power. Two 2.0mm glass sheets, a black frame and 24.2kg per module give fire Class A, and Aiko rates 495W at BNPI. All 37 share one power class, as Aiko's manual requires within a string.

How ABC cells work

Aiko's all-back-contact (ABC) cells collect both polarities on the rear of an n-type wafer, so the front of the module carries no busbars or fingers and the whole cell surface is exposed to light. Aiko names partial-shading optimisation, a better temperature coefficient, a limit on hot-spot temperature and micro-crack resistance as design aims. Across this range the coefficients are -0.26%/°C for Pmax, -0.22%/°C for Voc and +0.05%/°C for Isc.

Versions in this range

Neostar 2P (AIKO-A-MAH54Mw) is the mono-glass version: 108 cells under 3.2mm tempered glass, a black anodised frame, 1757×1134×30mm and 20.6kg, with IEC fire Class C. Neostar 2P+ (AIKO-A-MAH54Dw) uses the same cell layout between two 2.0mm coated semi-tempered glass sheets; it weighs 24.2kg and is rated IEC fire Class A.

Neostar 2P60 (AIKO-A-MAH60Mw) and Neostar 2S+60 (AIKO-A-MAH60Db) carry 120 cells in a 1954×1134×30mm frame: the first is mono-glass at 23.1kg, the second a full-black dual-glass module at 26.5kg. The current 2P+ and 2S+60 datasheets add BNPI ratings (1000W/m² front, 135W/m² rear), which quantify the extra output from light reaching the rear glass.

Mounting and string design

Aiko's installation manual asks for at least 10cm between frame and roof surface to preserve the roof fire rating, the same orientation and tilt for every module in an array, and a tilt of at least 10°. The 5400Pa front and 2400Pa rear loads apply only to the bolt and clamp positions tabulated in the manual; some clamp layouts are rated as low as ±1600Pa.

Modules of different electrical classes must not share a string, and the string open-circuit voltage has to be checked at the lowest site temperature using the Voc coefficient. Frames must be earthed through the 4.2mm grounding holes; Aiko recommends M4 stainless hardware tightened to 3–7Nm with 4mm² copper wire. Drilling or modifying the frame voids the warranty.

Warranty and coastal sites

The 2P, 2P+ and 2P60 fall under Aiko's distributed-module warranty: 15 years on the product, with paid extensions to 20 or 25 years in the European markets listed in the warranty. The full-black 2S+60 is covered by the residential warranty with 25 years on the product.

All four have a 30-year linear power warranty on front-side output: at most 1% loss in the first year and 0.35% per year afterwards, which leaves at least 90.6% at year 25 and 88.85% at year 30. Aiko does not support these modules between 50m and 500m from the seashore, where it recommends its Sirius range.
