Overview

One pallet of 36 Suntech STP440S-I54-Nsfb+ modules, 15.84kWp in total. Each module combines 108 half-cut n-type TOPCon cells with 2.0mm front and rear glass in a full-black finish and delivers 440Wp at 22.0% efficiency, with 32.53V Vmp, 13.53A Imp, 39.00V Voc and 14.28A Isc. Thanks to a (80±5)% bifaciality factor Suntech rates it at 485W under BNPI conditions. The module measures 1,762×1,134×30mm and weighs 24.5kg; the full pallet weighs 928kg, so unloading needs a forklift or pallet truck.

How the module is built

The STPXXXS-I54-Nsfb+ is a Suntech double-glass module that combines 108 half-cut n-type TOPCon cells (6×18) with a full-black finish: a black anodised aluminium frame and a rear glass that Suntech describes as glazed black/transparent. Front and rear glass are both 2.0mm thick. The module measures 1,762×1,134×30mm and weighs 24.5kg, and Suntech designs its all-black appearance to blend with the building it is mounted on.

Electrical ratings

The range covers 435–455W at STC with 21.8–22.8% efficiency and a positive power tolerance of 0/+5W. Because the module is bifacial, the rear side adds output depending on the surface behind it: at BNPI conditions (135W/m² rear irradiance) Suntech lists 479–501W. Temperature coefficients are -0.29%/°C for Pmax and -0.24%/°C for Voc. The maximum system voltage is 1500V DC (IEC), the series fuse rating 30A, and the IP68 junction box holds three bypass diodes.

Installation notes from the manual

For the I54 double-glass series Suntech's 2026 installation manual gives +5400/-2400Pa test load when the module is bolted through the inner four holes or clamped on the long frame within the 316–416mm range; clamping on the short frame (50–150mm) is limited to +1600/-1600Pa. These are test loads, equal to 1.5 times the design load. For tracker installations the datasheet asks installers to obtain load data from Suntech.

For string design the manual multiplies Isc by 1.25 (1.56 for conductor and fuse sizing) and corrects Voc for the coldest site temperature with Cvoc = 1 − αVoc × (25 − Tmin). Use 4mm² solar cable and compatible connectors only, do not mix modules of different electrical ratings in one string, keep at least 10cm between modules and roof and a tilt of 10° or more, and earth the frame through the marked grounding hole without drilling the frame.

Pallet and warranty

Modules ship 36 per pallet, at 928kg per pallet according to the datasheet, and 936 fit a 40ft high-cube container. Suntech's 2026 global limited warranty lists the STPXXXS-I54-N (sh, th, fb, sfb)+ range with 25 years on product and 30 years on power: at least 99% in the first year, then a maximum loss of 0.40% per year, ending at 87.40% in year 30. The warranty starts at sale to the first installing customer, or at the latest 12 months after dispatch from the factory.
