Overview

The S6-GC3P150K07-NV-ND is a 150kW Solis three-phase string inverter for large commercial roofs, industrial sites and ground-mounted plants. Seven MPP trackers with three string inputs each accept 54A per tracker, between 160V and 1000V, so high-current bifacial modules can be used. It delivers up to 165kVA at 98.8% peak and 98.3% European efficiency. The 105kg IP66 unit is set up over Bluetooth, supports export control across up to ten inverters, and the manual specifies a 300A AC protection device.

  • 150kW rated, 165kVA max., 3/N/PE 380/400V
  • 7 MPPT, 54A each, 21 string inputs
  • 1100V max. input, 160–1000V MPPT range
  • Max. efficiency 98.8%, EU efficiency 98.3%
  • Primary/secondary export control for up to 10 inverters
  • Night SVG; optional AFCI, PID recovery, unbalanced output

How it works

The S6-GC3P150K07-NV-ND is a transformerless three-phase string inverter for large rooftops, industrial sites and ground-mounted plants. Seven MPP trackers each take three strings and up to 54A, which suits high-current bifacial modules, and track from 160V to 1000V with a maximum input of 1100V. The 21 inputs use MC4 connectors; the design is fuseless with internal over-current protection, so no external string fuses are needed.

Rated output is 150kW with up to 165kVA available, on a 3/N/PE 220/380V or 230/400V grid at 50Hz or 60Hz. Peak efficiency is 98.8% and European efficiency 98.3%. At night the inverter can supply reactive power (night SVG) while drawing less than 2W.

Key features

Every string is monitored and an I-V curve scan helps locate faulty modules. Surge protection is type II on DC and AC, with AC type I as an option; a DC switch is integrated. Optional functions include AFCI 2.0 arc detection, which can be paired with module-level rapid shutdown, night-time PID recovery and three-phase unbalanced output for sites with uneven phase loads.

Export power management can run with a meter directly on the inverter for up to ten units in a primary/secondary daisy chain, or through Solis EPM devices and data loggers for larger plants. Solis states that single and multiple generator applications are supported without an external genset controller; the source type and generator power are set in the app.

Installation and compatibility

The IP66 housing measures 1035.5×869×396mm and weighs 105kg; cooling is by intelligent redundant fans for ambient temperatures of -30°C to +60°C. Keep 700mm between inverters and other equipment, also for back-to-back mounting, and at least 700mm from the floor. Solis advises against installation near living areas because of operating noise.

The AC side takes copper or aluminium cable of 70–400mm² (120mm² recommended) on M10 crimp terminals; aluminium needs bi-metallic terminals or anti-oxidant grease. The manual specifies a 300A AC protection device complying with IEC/EN 60947-3. For Italy, Solis publishes CEI 0-21 and CEI 0-16 declarations and certificates; EN 50549-1/-2, VDE-AR-N 4105 and VDE-AR-N 4110 certificates are also available.

Monitoring and settings

The inverter has LED indicators and is configured over Bluetooth with the SolisCloud app on an Android or iOS phone, including grid code, export limits, generator mode and AFCI. Two independent RS485 ports simplify connection to third-party controllers; Wi-Fi, GPRS and PLC communication are optional for remote monitoring in SolisCloud.

Questions and answers

How many strings can I connect?

Twenty-one strings: seven MPP trackers with three inputs each, rated 54A per tracker and 75A short-circuit current.

Can several inverters share one export limit?

Yes. With a meter, up to ten inverters can run in a primary/secondary daisy chain; larger plants use Solis EPM devices or data loggers with a meter.

Which AC breaker and cable does it need?

The manual specifies a 300A protection device to IEC/EN 60947-3 and AC cable of 70–400mm², with 120mm² recommended.

Can it run with a diesel generator?

Solis states that single and multiple genset applications are supported without an external genset controller, with the generator mode and power set in the app.
