Solis S6-EH3P80K10-NV-YD-H80kW three-phase hybrid inverter for high-voltage batteries, 10 MPPT

Overview

The S6-EH3P80K10-NV-YD-H is the 80kW model of the Solis S6-EH3P(80-125)K10-NV-YD-H series of commercial hybrid inverters. Ten MPP trackers with two 21A strings each take a recommended and usable PV array of up to 160kW. Two independent battery ports for 300–950V lithium batteries supply 100A each. The 80kW backup output switches over in under 10ms and carries 1.6 times rated power for 10 seconds; each phase can supply up to 26.66kW. A third AC port connects a generator, wind power, an existing PV inverter or smart loads.

How it works

The S6-EH3P(80-125)K10-NV-YD-H is a transformerless hybrid inverter for commercial and industrial PV storage on 380/400V three-phase networks. Ten MPP trackers take two strings each, at up to 42A per tracker, and Solis rates the PV input at twice the AC power: 160kW for the 80kW model and 250kW for the 125kW model. PV strings must be connected directly to the inverter, as combining them on the DC side before the inverter is not supported.

Two independent battery ports accept lithium batteries from 300V to 950V with 100A of charge and discharge current each, and the datasheet states compatibility with battery modules from 100Ah to 314Ah. An Eastron SDM630MCT V2 meter with three CTs and a data logger are supplied.

Backup, generator and AC coupling

The backup port takes over in under 10ms, or under 20ms with up to six units in parallel. The 80kW and 100kW models deliver 1.6 times rated power for 10 seconds and twice rated power for 200ms; the 125kW model 1.4 times for 10 seconds and 1.6 times for 200ms. A utility bypass can supply the backup loads directly from the grid.

The third AC port is a three-in-one interface for an existing on-grid PV inverter, wind power or a diesel generator, and can also switch smart loads. Demand management, anti-reverse-flow control and dynamic reactive power compensation are listed for grid-connected operation.

Installation and compatibility

The inverter weighs 170kg and measures 1174×814×400mm, with intelligent redundant fan cooling and IP66 protection. Solis requires at least 200mm above, 450mm at each side, 400mm below and 1m in front, and 800mm between inverters. The manual gives external breaker ratings of more than 225A on the backup and smart port and at least 315A on the grid port, plus a 500mA RCD and battery breakers of at least 125A per port.

Parallel systems use identical models, each with its own battery, and the total parallel cable distance must stay under 60m; seven to ten units need an external STS. For Italy, Solis publishes CEI 0-21 and CEI 0-16 declarations listing approved storage systems such as SolisStorage EverCore and FlexCore.

Monitoring and settings

Commissioning is done on the 7in LCD display or through Bluetooth with the SolisCloud app. Wi-Fi, LAN and Bluetooth are standard, plus two CAN-BMS ports, two parallel CAN ports, an RS485 meter port, RS485, DRM, five digital inputs and four digital outputs; a 4G logger is optional. Work modes, time-of-use and backup reserve are set in the app.
