Overview

The Sigen PV 80M1-HYA is an 80kW three-phase hybrid inverter for commercial PV storage, with 88kVA maximum output and six MPP trackers accepting up to 160kWp of PV, two 40A strings per tracker. Its battery port charges and discharges a SigenStack of 4 to 21 BAT 12.0 modules at up to 88kW. European efficiency is 98.3%. It weighs 75kg in a 918×640×340mm IP66 housing. Sigenergy recommends a 160A AC switch rated at least 500V and 50mm² copper AC cable at 380/400V.

How it works

Sigen PV M1-HYA inverters are on-grid hybrid inverters for commercial and industrial PV storage. They operate as PV inverters on their own and accept a SigenStack battery on a dedicated DC port, so PV energy is stored without an extra AC conversion stage. Each inverter takes 4 to 21 SigenStack BAT 12.0 modules through a SigenStack BC controller and charges or discharges at up to 110% of its nominal AC power.

An integrated EMS lets up to 100 inverters run in parallel without a data logger. HYA models have no backup port, but an off-grid self-powered mode can feed loads from PV and storage: 220V single-phase up to 10kVA or 380V three-phase up to 20kVA. In this mode the inverter forms an IT system, so an AC insulation monitoring device must be installed.

Key features

The 100–125kW models have eight MPP trackers and the smaller sizes four to six; each tracker takes two strings at 40A (60A short-circuit) between 160 and 1,000V, with 1,100V maximum input. PV connectors are MC4 or H4 Pro for cable up to 6mm². Maximum efficiency is 98.6%. Protection covers insulation and residual current monitoring, AFCI, type II AC surge protection and type II DC surge protection, with type I+II available as an option.

Installation and compatibility

The 918×640×340mm housing (999×668×340mm for 125kW) weighs 72–95kg and can be wall-, crossarm- or clamp-mounted; crossarm and clamp mounting need a sunshade above the unit. Leave at least 400mm on the left for fan service and 1,500mm in front of a SigenStack. AC terminals take OT/DT lugs up to 240mm², and each inverter needs its own AC switch rated at least 500V: 160A for 80kW, 200A for 100kW and 250A for 110–125kW.

Recommended copper AC cross-sections at 380/400V are 50mm² for 80kW, 70mm² for 100kW and 95mm² for 125kW. Keep the AC cable to the transformer within 600m, as longer runs may affect parallel operation. Operating range is -30 to +60°C up to 5,000m, with derating from 4,000m. Certificates cover VDE-AR-N 4110/4120 and the Austrian TOR Typ A.

Monitoring and settings

Fast Ethernet, WLAN, RS485 and an optional Sigen CommMod 4G module connect the inverters to Sigen Cloud and the mySigen app, and a Sigen CommBridge extends the inverter link to 800m. Operating modes include self-consumption, time-based control with up to 24 periods, full feed-in, Sigen AI and remote EMS for a third-party controller. Digital inputs accept ripple-control or DRM signals, and an emergency stop button can be wired in.
