Overview

SUN-80K-SG02HP3-EU-EM6 is the top model of Deye's EM6 series: 80kW rated and 88kVA maximum on a three-phase 230/400V grid. Two independent battery inputs of 80A each take 160–1000V lithium batteries, and six MPP trackers with two strings each accept up to 160kW of PV access power and 128kW of input power at up to 1000V. With 200A pass-through, 98.7% maximum efficiency and up to 10 units in parallel, it targets commercial and industrial storage systems; Deye combines it with its BOS-G-Pro rack battery.

  • 60–80kW three-phase, HV battery 160–1000V
  • Two battery inputs, 80A + 80A
  • 6 MPPT, 2 strings each, 36A per tracker
  • Up to 160kW PV access on the 80kW model
  • 98.7% maximum, 98.1% European efficiency
  • Up to 10 units in parallel, on- or off-grid

How it works

The EM6 series is Deye's high-voltage hybrid inverter for commercial and industrial sites in the 60–80kW class. Each unit combines PV conversion, battery charging, grid exchange, a backup load output and a generator port. Two independent battery inputs of 80A each accept lithium batteries between 160 and 1000V, with charging controlled by the BMS; the allowed number of modules per battery set follows Deye's approved battery list.

Six MPP trackers, each with two strings at up to 36A, work up to 1000V with a 150–850V tracking range. PV access power reaches twice the rated AC power, for example 160kW on the 80kW model. Grid-to-load pass-through is 200A, and in off-grid operation the inverter delivers 1.5 times rated power for 10 seconds. Maximum efficiency is 98.7% and European efficiency 98.1%.

Key features

Six time-of-use periods set when the battery charges and discharges, with Selling First, Zero Export to Load and Zero Export to CT work modes. The GEN port can take a diesel generator with G-start dry contact, act as smart load output or receive existing on-grid inverters by AC coupling. Up to 10 inverters of the same model can be paralleled on-grid or off-grid; each needs its own lithium battery from Deye's approved list, and lead-acid batteries are not supported in parallel systems.

Installation and compatibility

The 105kg inverter (606×927×314mm) is wall-mounted on a load-bearing, non-flammable surface with about 50cm clearance around it and at least 100cm in front. Deye recommends 250A breakers on the grid and backup load ports, 95mm² copper cable for grid and load, and 16mm² battery cable with a separate DC overcurrent device. Three 300A/5A CTs are supplied; with CT cables over 10m, or above 300A in parallel systems, a smart meter or larger CTs should be used.

Deye pairs the SUN-80K-SG02HP3-EU-EM6 with its BOS-G-Pro rack battery and BOS-G-PDU-2 cluster control box in its C&I solution brochure. The datasheet lists IEC 61727, IEC 62116, CEI 0-21, EN 50549, NRS 097, RD 140, UNE 217002, OVE-Richtlinie R25, G99 and VDE-AR-N 4105, and Deye publishes VDE-AR-N 4105, Spanish NTS and UNE 217002 certificates for the series.

Monitoring and settings

Configuration is made on the LCD: battery parameters, the BAT1/BAT2 parallel option for a single battery set, time-of-use, work mode, grid code, GEN port and parallel addressing. Interfaces are RS485, RS232 and CAN, plus a DRM port, a digital input and a dry-contact output; remote monitoring uses optional GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G or LAN loggers. Operating range is -40 to 60°C with derating above 45°C. The warranty is 5 years, extendable to 10 years by country.

Questions and answers

Can one battery bank be connected to both battery inputs?

Yes. When a single battery set is wired to BAT1 and BAT2, the Parallel bat1&bat2 function must be enabled; Deye's manual shows the possible wiring scenarios, some needing a DC bus or combiner box.

Which AC breakers are recommended?

Deye recommends 250A breakers on both the grid and the backup load ports, certified to IEC 60947-1 and IEC 60947-2, with 95mm² copper cables.

Are lead-acid batteries supported?

No. The series is designed for lithium-ion batteries of 160–1000V, and in parallel systems Deye requires batteries from its approved battery list.

Which battery does Deye combine it with?

Deye's C&I brochure pairs the 80kW model with the BOS-G-Pro high-voltage rack battery and the BOS-G-PDU-2 cluster control box.
