Overview

A full factory pallet of 37 Q-Sun Mercury QN-630HT-02 modules, 23.31kWp in total. The top model of the QNHT-02 series gives 630Wp at 23.3% efficiency from 132 half-cut n-type cells, with 48.70V Voc, 16.17A Isc and 40.99V at the maximum power point; with 135W/m² on the rear Q-Sun rates it at 695W. The 2,382×1,134×30mm double-glass module weighs 32.5kg and is aimed at large roofs, carports and ground-mounted plants.

Module design

The Mercury QNHT-02 series from Q-Sun Solar (Nanjing, China) is a double-glass bifacial module built from 132 half-cut monocrystalline n-type cells in the 182×210mm rectangular format, connected with 20 busbars. Both glass sheets are 2.0mm thick, the 30mm aluminium frame gives a 2,382×1,134×30mm module of 32.5kg, and the IP68 junction box has 300mm or 1,200mm leads that can be customised. The datasheet lists five models, QN-610HT-02 to QN-630HT-02, with a 0…+5W tolerance and 22.6% to 23.3% efficiency.

Electrical design notes

Maximum system voltage is 1500V DC (IEC) and the maximum series fuse 30A. Temperature coefficients are -0.30%/°C for Pmax, -0.25%/°C for Voc and +0.04%/°C for Isc, with a NOCT of 42±2°C. With 135W/m² on the rear the modules give 673–695W. Q-Sun's manual applies a 1.25 factor to Voc and Isc for component ratings and gives the string limits as system voltage ÷ 1.25 ÷ Voc in series and fuse rating ÷ 1.25 ÷ Isc in parallel.

Installation notes from the manual

Modules with 2.0mm glass are tested to 5400Pa on the front and 2400Pa on the back; design loads must include the 1.5 safety factor of IEC 61215-2021. Clamps must overlap the frame by 8–11mm and never touch the glass; M8 bolts are tightened to 16–20Nm.

Q-Sun suggests a tilt of at least 10°, a 10cm gap to the roof or wall, 10mm between modules, and forbids drilling glass or frame without approval. The modules passed IEC 61701 salt-spray testing and may be installed 50–500m from the sea with stainless steel or aluminium contact parts and anti-corrosion measures at the joints.

Warranty and packaging

Q-Sun gives a 15-year material warranty and a 30-year linear power warranty: 99.0% in year one and 0.4% less per year, down to 87.4% after 30 years. The datasheet packing standard is 37 modules per pallet, 20 pallets and 740 modules per 40ft HQ container.
