Overview

The V16 stores 16.077kWh in one IP66 unit: 314Ah of lithium iron phosphate at 51.2V. Pytes recommends 125A (6.4kW) for charging and 150A (7.68kW) for discharging, with a maximum discharge of 200A (10.24kW). Heating pad, DC breaker, pre-charge circuit and an aerosol fire suppression module are built in, so it can hang on an outside wall or stand on the optional floor base. Up to 16 units work in parallel, 257.2kWh nominal. It measures 700×671×260mm, weighs 130kg and is rated for 8,000 cycles.

How it works

V16 combines 314Ah lithium iron phosphate cells, BMS, DC breaker and pre-charge circuit in one 700×671×260mm enclosure weighing 130kg. Nominal energy is 16.07kWh at 51.2V, and the battery operates between 46.5V and 56.8V on the battery input of a low-voltage inverter. Several units are wired only in parallel, each to common positive and negative busbars, and one master unit handles communication with the inverter.

Key features

Recommended currents are 125A (6.4kW) for charging and 150A (7.68kW) for discharging, with up to 200A (10.24kW) discharge. Charging works from 0°C to 55°C and discharging from -20°C to 55°C, with the integrated heating pad active between -18°C and +15°C. The case is IP66, an aerosol fire suppression module is built in, and Pytes rates 8,000 cycles at 25°C, 0.5C and 90% DoD to 70% end of life, with a 10-year warranty.

Installation and compatibility

Depending on the packing list, V16 is supplied for wall mounting, with a bracket fixed by eight expansion screws, or placed on the optional floor base. Pytes asks for at least 0.5m from the power conversion system, a level, dry and dust-free spot out of direct sunlight, and fire extinguishers nearby. Up to 16 units can be paralleled. In open-loop operation the inverter low-battery cut-out must be 49V; in closed loop Pytes recommends 20% low SOC and 10% shutdown SOC.

Monitoring and settings

CAN or RS485 runs from the master battery's COM port to the inverter; further units cascade from link 1 to link 0. The quick guide gives DIP addresses for Deye, Sol-Ark, Sunsynk, Victron, Solis, Luxpower, GoodWe, SMA, Megarevo, Afore, Phocos, Voltronic, SRNE, MUST, Studer, Hoymiles, Aiswei (Solplanet), Ingeteam, APsystems, Livoltek, Epever and Sungrow. A dry-contact port, an RS232 console and the optional LSW-5 Wi-Fi dongle complete the interfaces.
