Overview

Venus X is a floor-standing all-in-one storage system with a 10kWh LFP battery and a 6kVA bidirectional inverter. It couples to the home on the AC side, draws 7.5kVA from the grid (6kW for charging plus 1.5kW bypass) and returns up to 6kVA. The backup output carries 6kVA continuously and 12kVA at peak, switching in less than 10ms. Five extra battery packs extend capacity to 60kWh. Marstek addresses single-phase homes and small businesses with heavy loads; the cabinet measures 500×270×1,127mm and weighs 160kg.

How it works

Venus X combines a 10kWh LFP battery and a bidirectional inverter in one floor-standing cabinet and connects on the AC side, so it adds storage to an existing PV system without changing the PV inverter. From the grid it accepts 7.5kVA, which Marstek splits into 6kW of battery charging plus 1.5kW passed through to loads. It feeds the home with up to 6kVA, and its backup output carries 6kVA continuously with 12kVA peaks, switching in less than 10ms.

Paired with a Marstek smart meter, the system follows household demand and avoids export, with a stated response time of 3s and an error of about 10W. The AI mode tracks local electricity prices, charging in off-peak hours and supplying the home during high-rate periods.

Installation and compatibility

Two installation modes are offered: plug and play as a quick self-installed entry option, or WireLite hardwiring into the distribution board, which Marstek specifies for full power and whole-home backup and which requires an electrician. The product page quotes 3.6kW or 6kW bidirectional power. The cabinet measures 500×270×1,127mm and weighs 160kg, so plan transport and floor loading. It is IP65, naturally cooled, below 30dB and rated for -20…+55°C up to 2,000m. Up to five extra battery packs (400V nominal, 6kW charge and discharge) raise capacity to 60kWh.

Standards and warranty

The datasheet lists IEC/EN 62109-1, IEC/EN 61000-6-1 to -4 Class B, EN 50549-1:2019, VDE-AR-N 4105:2018 and UN38.3. The main battery is specified at more than 6,000 cycles at 25°C and 90% depth of discharge, with a 10-year warranty and a stated lifespan of 15 years. The battery-to-AC efficiency exceeds 94%. Check with the network operator which grid code applies before connection, since no Italian CEI 0-21 certificate is listed.

Monitoring and settings

The Marstek app shows energy flows in real time and lets the user switch operating modes remotely. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth serve everyday control, Ethernet gives a stable wired link, and RS-485 with Modbus RTU together with an open API lets installers connect an external EMS or smart-home platform.
