Overview

This pallet contains 36 JA Solar JAM72D40-605/MB modules, 21.78kWp in total. The 144-half-cell JAM72D40 MB is the classic utility format of the DeepBlue 4.0 Pro range: 2,278×1,134×30mm, 31.8kg, silver frame and 2.0mm glass front and rear. The 605W class tops its datasheet with 23.4% efficiency, 45.05V Vmp, 13.43A Imp and 53.00V Voc, and 653W at a 10% rear irradiance ratio. The high Voc means fewer modules per string than on 108-cell panels for the same inverter voltage. Product warranty: 12 years.

Cell and module technology

DeepBlue 4.0 Pro is JA Solar's n-type module generation. Its Bycium+ cells are n-type passivated-contact cells on low-oxygen wafers, cut in half and connected with multi-busbar ribbons (16 busbars, 18 on the JAM66D46). JA Solar quotes cell conversion efficiency of up to 26%. Every version in this range is a double-glass bifacial module with an aluminium frame, an IP68 junction box with three bypass diodes and QC 4.10-351/MC4-EVO2A connectors.

Formats and packing quantities

The 108-cell JAM54D40 and JAM54D41 measure 1,762×1,134×30mm, weigh 22kg and ship 36 per pallet, 936 per 40ft high-cube container. The 120-cell JAM60D40 (1,953mm, 27.3kg) and JAM60D42 (2,063mm, 28.8kg) fit 864 and 792 per container. The 144-cell JAM72D40 (2,278mm, 31.8kg) and JAM72D42 (2,465mm, 34.6kg) load 720 and 576. The JAM66D46 is wider at 1,303mm, 33mm deep, 38.2kg, with 33 per pallet and 594 per container.

Black-frame and all-black versions suit visible residential roofs, while the larger formats are aimed at commercial roofs, carports and ground-mounted plants where fewer modules per kWp reduce mounting and cabling work. JA Solar notes on each datasheet that frame colour and cable length can be customised on request, so check the exact version code.

Electrical design notes

All versions are rated for 1500V DC. The temperature coefficients are -0.290%/°C for Pmax, -0.250%/°C for Voc and +0.045%/°C for Isc, with NOCT of 45±2°C. Maximum series fuse is 30A, or 35A for the high-current JAM66D45 and JAM66D46. Each datasheet also lists values at a 10% rear-to-front irradiation ratio, where Isc rises by about 8%: use those currents when sizing inverter inputs and protection for bifacial installations.

JA Solar rates the frames for 5400Pa front and 2400Pa rear static load. For Nextracker trackers, the loads in the JA Solar and Nextracker compatibility letter apply. All versions are safety class II, with a fire performance of UL Type 29 or Type 38, Class C, depending on the version.

Warranty and degradation

JA Solar's linear power warranty runs for 30 years, with 1% degradation in the first year and 0.4% per year afterwards. The product warranty depends on the version: 12 years for the JAM54D41 LB, JAM66D46, JAM72D40 MB and JAM72D42, and 25 years for the black-frame JAM54D40 and JAM60D40, the 2025 all-black JAM54D41 and the JAM60D42.
