Who we areNew, original Huawei products with full manufacturer warranty, supplied with their documentation.
The SUN5000-8K-MAP0 is an 8kW three-phase hybrid inverter for PV arrays with an optimiser on every module. Rated at 8kW and 8.8kVA, it takes up to 14.6kWp of PV as recommended by Huawei, on two MPP trackers with 16A each and 1100V maximum input; each string holds 6 to 35 SUN2000-450W-P2 or SUN2000-600W-P optimisers. LUNA2000 batteries charge at up to 12kW and discharge at up to 8kW. With the SmartGuard-63A-T0 it supplies three-phase backup, holding 150% overload for 5 minutes and 200% for 10 seconds.
The SUN5000 MAP0 has the same main electrical ratings as the SUN2000 MAP0 range but is specified for fully optimised PV arrays: Huawei states that every module must carry a SUN2000-450W-P2 or SUN2000-600W-P optimiser, otherwise the system reports errors and does not operate. Each optimiser tracks the maximum power point of its own module, so shading or mixed orientations on a string only affect the modules concerned.
Two MPP trackers accept one string each at up to 1100V and 16A, with a 160–1000V operating range. A string can hold 6 to 35 optimisers and up to 12kW of DC power. The battery port runs LUNA2000-5/10/15-S0 and LUNA2000-7/14/21-S1 systems at 600–980V with up to 12kW charging power, and the battery can also be charged from the grid.
Because the whole array is optimised, rapid shutdown (RSD) is a standard function alongside AFCI arc-fault protection. Terminal temperature detection covers the PV, battery and optimiser connectors. Off-grid with the SmartGuard-63A-T0, the output carries 100% three-phase asymmetric load, 110% overload continuously, 150% for 5 minutes on the 8K or 1 minute on the 12K, and 200% for 10 seconds, with switchover in 20ms or less.
The inverter is a 490×460×130mm, 21kg wall unit with IP66 protection, natural convection cooling and noise of 29dB or less, rated for -25…+60°C and 4000m altitude. Listed grid codes include CEI 0-21, VDE-AR-N 4105, EN 50549-1, C10/11, TOR Erzeuger, G99 and G100. Monitoring runs on the integrated WLAN and the FusionSolar app, which offers string disconnection detection, while Ethernet and 4G are added through Smart Dongles.
No. Huawei states that SUN5000 inverters must be fully equipped with optimisers; otherwise the system reports errors and cannot work.
The DC MBUS optimisers SUN2000-450W-P2 and SUN2000-600W-P. Each string takes 6 to 35 optimisers and up to 12kW of DC power.
The datasheet ratings for power, PV input and battery are the same. The SUN5000 requires full optimisation, lists rapid shutdown as a standard function and extends temperature detection to the optimiser connectors.
Yes, with a LUNA2000 battery and the SmartGuard-63A-T0, which switches over within 20ms and supplies the rated power in three-phase off-grid operation.
