Overview

The HYT-6.0HV-EUG1 delivers 6000W (6600VA maximum) of three-phase power at 380/400V and moves up to 6000W in and out of a high-voltage battery between 170V and 600V, at a maximum of 20A. Hoymiles recommends up to 9000W of PV on its two MPPT inputs, each rated for 14A and strings up to 1000V. In backup operation it supplies 6000W continuously and 12000VA for 10s, switching over in under 10ms. It can draw up to 12000W from the grid, for example to charge the battery during off-peak hours.

  • Three-phase 380/400V, 5.0–12.0kW rated output
  • High-voltage Li-ion battery, 170–600V, CAN
  • Two MPPTs, PV input up to 1000V
  • 100% unbalanced three-phase output
  • Backup switch-over below 10ms
  • CEI 0-21, VDE-AR-N 4105, EN 50549 listed

How it works

HYT-HV-EUG1 inverters manage a PV array, a high-voltage lithium-ion battery and a three-phase 3L/N/PE grid connection. Two MPPT trackers work between 200V and 950V with a 1000V maximum input; the 10.0kW and 12.0kW models accept two strings on the second tracker. The battery port covers 170–600V and follows the BMS over CAN, which keeps currents low: 20A for the 5.0kW and 6.0kW models, 30A for the larger ones. PV arrays up to 150% of the AC rating are permitted.

The inverter supports Self-consumption, Economy and Backup modes and can deliver fully unbalanced output, so a heavily loaded single phase is still supplied. During a grid failure the EPS output takes over in less than 10ms and can briefly supply up to 16000VA. Export to the grid can be limited, and the built-in dry contact can serve as earth-fault alarm, load control or generator start.

Installation and compatibility

The housing measures 502×486×202mm, weighs 26.5kg, is rated IP65 and is cooled by natural convection, with a noise level below 40dB. Mount it vertically or tilted back by up to 15°, leaving at least 300mm above, 500mm below and 200mm at each side. The delivery includes a smart meter with three CTs and a data transfer stick; if the grid-side current exceeds 100A, a meter with larger CTs is needed. Installation altitude is limited to 2000m.

Hoymiles' compatible high-voltage battery list includes its own HB-(10-23)S-G2 and batteries from BYD (HVS, HVM), Pylontech (Force H, Powercube), Dyness, Pytes, Soluna, Sunwoda and others, each with a minimum firmware. The inverters also work without a battery. Listed grid standards are EN 50549, VDE-AR-N 4105, VFR 2019, TOR Erzeuger Type A, RD 647, NTS and CEI 0-21 2019:04, with IEC 62109-1/-2 for safety.

Monitoring and parallel systems

Up to 10 inverters, including units of different power, can be linked in parallel through the PARA ports with communication cables no longer than 10m; termination switches are set on the first and last unit. Each inverter needs its own battery, and the data transfer stick must be connected to the master. Monitoring runs on S-Miles Cloud, while working modes, export management, three-phase unbalance compensation and generator control are set in the S-Miles app.

Questions and answers

What battery voltage does the HYT-HV-EUG1 need?

A high-voltage lithium-ion battery with a voltage between 170V and 600V that appears on Hoymiles' compatible battery list, for example the Hoymiles HB-(10-23)S-G2, BYD HVS/HVM or Pylontech Force H.

Can it run without a battery?

Yes. Hoymiles states that the series works with or without a battery, so a battery can be added later.

Can one battery be shared by two inverters?

No. In parallel systems each inverter needs its own battery; up to 10 inverters can be paralleled.

Is it suitable for unbalanced loads?

Yes. The series supports 100% unbalanced three-phase output, and an unbalance compensation function can be enabled in the app.
