Overview

The HF-800-WB, marketed as HiFlow 800, is an 800VA single-phase microinverter that takes two PV modules wired in series on one MPPT input. The input accepts up to 100V and 16A and tracks from 16V to 96V, with peak MPPT performance between 54V and 80V; typical modules are 320W to 520W. Peak efficiency is 97.0% and European efficiency 96.0%. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth replace the gateway, and the Flex-S3 Schuko cable lets it plug into a household socket, which suits balcony systems with two modules.

How it works

The HF-800-WB belongs to Hoymiles' HiFlow series. Instead of one input per module, it connects two PV modules in series as one string to a single MPPT input that tracks from 16V to 96V, accepts up to 100V and 16A, and reaches peak MPPT performance between 54V and 80V. A galvanically isolated HF transformer separates DC from AC, and the output is 800VA at 230V. When shut down, the DC voltage is cut to 34V within one second.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in. The S-Miles Home app manages the microinverter either through S-Miles Cloud or locally by Bluetooth within about 3m, without account registration for local use. Output power can be limited as a percentage to meet local rules or reduce grid export, and the system can include Shelly smart meters and smart sockets. Hoymiles states compliance with GDPR and RED EN 18031 for data security.

Installation and compatibility

The microinverter is fixed to the module bracket with M8 screws at 9Nm, with its indicator facing away from the module and at least 2cm of space around it. Hoymiles recommends that both modules face the same direction for best yield and lists 320–520W modules as typical. The Flex-S3 plug-and-play cable, 1mm², 5m with a CEE 7/7 Schuko plug, connects the unit to a household socket. The 213×182.5×36.5mm housing weighs 2.1kg, is fanless and rated IP67.

Standards and warranty

Grid compliance covers VDE-AR-N 4105:2018, EN 50549-1:2019 and VFR 2019, with IEC/EN 62109-1/-2 safety and IEC/EN 61000 EMC standards. DC and AC overvoltage category is II, and no current is fed back to the array. Operating temperature is -40°C to +65°C and night consumption below 50mW. Hoymiles gives HiFlow series microinverters a 12-year standard warranty in Europe.
