Overview

The GW50K-SDT-C30 is a 50kW three-phase string inverter for commercial and industrial roofs. Four MPP trackers with two strings each accept 40A per tracker across a 140–1000V window, and the AC output supplies 50kW at up to 75.7A at 380V. Maximum efficiency is 98.7%. Type II surge protection is fitted on DC and AC, shadow scanning is integrated, and AFCI is available as an option. The housing weighs 33kg and measures 646×484×230mm; GoodWe recommends a 100A AC switch.

How it works

The GW50K-SDT-C30 takes up to eight PV strings on four MPP trackers, each rated 40A and 52A short-circuit current, and converts them into 50kW of three-phase AC at 220/380V, 230/400V or 240/415V. The MPPT window is 140–1000V, start-up 160V and maximum input 1100V; between 1000V and 1100V the inverter waits in standby. GoodWe states 21A per string and up to 180% PV oversizing for this range.

Key features

The DC and AC sides carry Type II surge protection as standard, the DC switch is integrated and shadow scanning for partly shaded arrays is built in. AFCI arc detection, PID recovery and night-time power supply are options. Cooling is by smart fans with noise below 50dB, which GoodWe positions for sites such as schools and hospitals. The AC terminals accept aluminium cable through copper-aluminium transition lugs.

Installation and compatibility

Mount the inverter vertically or tilted back by no more than 15°, on a non-flammable structure that carries its 33kg. AC conductors up to 70mm² fit the OT/DT terminals; GoodWe recommends a dedicated 100A AC switch. The built-in residual current monitor can be supplemented by an external Type A RCD where rules require one; above 30kVA GoodWe suggests 10mA per kVA of rated power.

Export limitation and plant control use GoodWe meters together with an EzLogger or SEC1000 controller. GoodWe publishes CEI 0-21, CEI 0-16, VDE-AR-N 4105, EN 50549-1 and EN 50549-2 certificates for the GW50K-SDT-C30, covering Italian low- and medium-voltage connections and the German and European grid codes.

Monitoring and settings

The inverter communicates over RS485 and Wi-Fi, LAN and Bluetooth, with Modbus RTU (SunSpec compliant) and Modbus TCP. Commissioning is done with the SEMS+ app, and the SEMS+ portal provides string-level monitoring for operation and maintenance. An LCD display is optional. Self-consumption at night is below 1W when the AC-side night supply option is not fitted.
