Deye SUN-50K-G0350kW three-phase string inverter, 4 MPPT

Overview

SUN-50K-G03 is the top model of Deye's 30–50kW G03 string inverter series, rated 50kW with 55kW maximum active power on a three-phase grid. Four MPP trackers, each with three strings at up to 40A, accept up to 65kW of DC power at up to 1000V, with a 200–850V tracking range and 250V start-up. It reaches 98.7% maximum and 98% European efficiency, weighs 44.5kg in an IP65 housing and supports zero export with Deye's SUN limiter or an energy meter.

How it works

The G03 30–50kW series is a transformerless three-phase string inverter range for 220/380V and 230/400V grids, with an AC voltage window of 277–460V depending on the grid standard. The 30kW model has two MPP trackers, the 33–45kW models three and the 50kW model four, each taking three strings at up to 40A. Input is up to 1000V, with 250V start-up and a 200–850V tracking range. Maximum efficiency is 98.7% and European efficiency 98%.

Key features

Deye lists zero-export and VSG applications, a wide output voltage range, optional string-level intelligent monitoring and an optional anti-PID function. Type II surge protection on both DC and AC sides, an integrated DC switch, ground fault and insulation monitoring and anti-islanding are standard, and software and operating parameters can be changed remotely. Night consumption is below 1W, typical noise below 45dB, and Deye states a design lifetime of more than 20 years.

Installation and compatibility

Mount the 44.5kg inverter (647.5×537×303.5mm) vertically, or tilted by up to 15°, on a wall or structure that carries its weight, with at least 500mm between units and above and below. The manual recommends copper AC cable of 10–25mm², rated 105°C, with resistance below 1.5Ω, and larger sections when the run exceeds 20m. An external leakage current device must trip above 300mA.

Zero export uses either the SUN limiter, supplied with three current clamps and wired to the inverter's control terminals, or a three-phase smart meter on the RS485 port. The datasheet lists EN 50549, IEC 61727 and VDE 0126-1-1 as grid connection standards and IEC 62109-1/-2, EN 61000-6-1 and EN 61000-6-3 for safety and EMC; the EU declaration covers SUN-30K to SUN-60K-G03.

Monitoring and settings

A 240×160 LCD with ESC and ENTER keys shows operating data and gives access to grid standard, protection and export settings. Interfaces are RS485, RS232, Wi-Fi and LAN; a Wi-Fi plug in the accessories links the inverter to the internet monitoring platform and phone app. Operating range is -25 to 65°C, up to 2000m without derating. The series is documented by Deye's 2021 datasheet and 2020 user manual and no longer appears on its current product pages.
