Overview

The Verto 30.0 is a 29.99kW three-phase string inverter without battery input, with four 28A MPP trackers and eight Stäubli MC4 inputs in total. It accepts up to 45kWp of PV, reaches full power from 360V MPP voltage and has 98.02% maximum efficiency. This item (4,210,404) is the SPD 1+2 version with type 1+2 surge protection, combined with Arc Guard arc detection and an RCMU. Recommended and maximum AC protection is 63A, with aluminium or copper cables up to 35mm².

How it works

Verto is a transformerless three-phase grid-tied inverter without a battery input, sized for small businesses, farms and apartment buildings. The 25.0–33.3kW range uses an 865×574×279mm housing weighing 41.75kg, with four MPP trackers that each have two DC inputs and accept 28A, so up to eight strings in different orientations connect directly through Stäubli MC4 connectors.

The usable MPP voltage spans 150–870V within a 1,000V maximum, and full power is reached from 330V on the 27.0, 360V on the 30.0 and 400V on the 33.3. A single string can carry the full 28A tracker current. The grid connection is 3~(N)PE 380/220V or 400/230V, and 440V and 480V systems are also supported.

Key features

Fronius Arc Guard arc fault detection, an RCMU, insulation monitoring, reverse polarity protection and a DC disconnector are integrated. Surge protection is built in, as type 1+2 or type 2 depending on version. Maximum efficiency is 97.98–98.03% and European efficiency 97.76–97.80%. Active cooling, IP66 and an ambient range of -40 to +60°C allow indoor or outdoor installation up to 3,000m, or 4,000m with a restricted voltage range.

Installation and compatibility

Fronius recommends a 63A AC fuse for every size, which is also the maximum. Where a residual current device is required, type A is generally sufficient; a frequency-inverter-type device of at least 100mA is recommended. AC conductors of 4–35mm² in aluminium or copper enter through an M32 gland, with an M50 gland or 1.5-inch conduit as options. Mount at a tilt between 90° and 10° on a load-bearing, non-flammable surface.

Monitoring and settings

WLAN and two Ethernet ports connect the integrated datalogger to Fronius Solar.web, while Modbus TCP and JSON open the inverter to SCADA and energy management systems. Two RS485 ports serve the Fronius Smart Meter and Modbus RTU SunSpec, six inputs and six digital inputs/outputs handle ripple control receivers, and wired shutdown is integrated. A Verto can also support a backup grid coordinated by a Verto Plus or Symo GEN24 Plus with battery.
