Overview

SUN-30K-G04 is the 30kW entry model (33kVA maximum) of Deye's 30–36kW G04 three-phase string inverters. Two MPP trackers each take three strings, with 40A per tracker, 1100V maximum input and a 200–1000V tracking range, for up to 45kW of PV input power. It reaches 98.6% maximum and 98.1% European efficiency. The 28.7kg IP65 unit needs a 70A/400V breaker and 10mm² cable, and zero export is possible with an Eastron or CHNT smart meter.

How it works

The SUN-30K, 33K, 35K and 36K-G04 are non-isolated three-phase string inverters for 220/380V and 230/400V grids. Two MPP trackers each take three strings, with 40A operating and 60A short-circuit current per tracker, up to 1100V input, 250V start-up and a 200–1000V tracking range. Maximum PV input power is 1.5 times the rated AC power, for example 45kW on the 30kW model. Maximum efficiency is 98.6% and European efficiency 98.1%.

Key features

Export can be limited to zero with a smart meter on the RS485 port, and several inverters can share one meter in master-slave mode. Optional functions include string-level intelligent monitoring of each PV string, an anti-PID module that repairs the PID effect of modules at night, a night power supply for the LCD, and three-phase unbalanced load operation. AFCI is optional; residual current detection, insulation monitoring, anti-islanding and type II surge protection on DC and AC are standard.

Installation and compatibility

Mount the 28.7kg inverter vertically, or tilted back by up to 15°, on a wall or structure that carries its weight, out of direct sun and rain, with at least 500mm between neighbouring units. Deye specifies 10mm² copper AC cable with a 70A/400V breaker for the 30 and 33kW models and 80A/400V for 35 and 36kW, up to 20m of outside cable, and one breaker per inverter. A type A RCD may be added, rated at 10mA per kVA or more.

Supported meters include the Eastron SDM630-Modbus V2 (direct up to 100A), the SDM630 MCT 40mA with external CTs, and CHNT DTSU666 types, with CT meters for larger currents. Deye's certificates for the SUN-(18-36)K-G04 series cover CEI 0-21, VDE-AR-N 4105, EN 50549-1 with French, Dutch and Polish versions, the Spanish NTS, UNE 217002 and RD 647/413/1699 rules, plus Swiss and French certificates for these sizes.

Monitoring and settings

The LCD and keypad give access to grid standard, export mode, power factor, protection and arc-fault settings. Interfaces are RS485 and RS232; remote monitoring uses an optional GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G or LAN logger. Operating range is -25 to 60°C with derating above 45°C, at up to 4000m, and noise is 60dB or less with intelligent air cooling. The warranty is 5 years.
