The CQ7-M is the controller module that every CQ7 tower starts with. Besides 6.96kWh of lithium iron phosphate cells at 57.6V and 121Ah, it houses the BMS, DC switch, power button, six LEDs and the CAN link to the inverter, and ships with the inverter communication cable, DC output cable and wall brackets. One CQ7-M manages up to 13 CQ7-S modules at 80A continuous, for towers of up to 97.44kWh. It measures 660×205×360mm and weighs 55kg.
A CQ7 tower is a series stack of 57.6V lithium iron phosphate modules. The CQ7-M at the top contains a battery module plus the system controller, DC switch, power button and CAN port for the inverter; the CQ7-S modules underneath hold cells only. One CQ7-M can manage up to 13 CQ7-S, so a single tower spans 2 to 14 modules, from 13.92kWh at 115.2V to 97.44kWh at 806.4V nominal.
Compared with the EQ series, the CQ7 handles more current: 80A continuous charge and discharge, 50A recommended, and 120A for 60 seconds, at 90% depth of discharge. FoxESS rates CQ7 towers for at least 6000 cycles at 25°C to 70% SOH and states above 95% round-trip efficiency. Each unit contains a thermally activated aerosol fire-suppression module. Standard modules charge from 0°C; warm-up (w) versions are listed in the manual for operation down to -25°C.
The stack stands on footstands on a hard, level floor and is fixed to the wall with brackets; the CQ7-M package includes the inverter communication cable and a DC output cable with 16mm² conductors. Indoors the room must be at least 10m², and the battery must stay 2m from heat sources. Tower height grows by 155mm per module, from 420mm to 2280mm, on a 660×360mm footprint.
The wide voltage range suits FoxESS's commercial hybrids: FoxESS Italy publishes CEI 0-21 and CEI 0-16 declarations for the H3-Plus range with CQ7 configurations starting from four modules. The system voltage must always lie within the battery port range of the chosen inverter.
Six LEDs on the CQ7-M show state of charge and faults, and each CQ7-S has a status LED. Through the hybrid inverter the battery is visible in the FoxCloud app and web platform. A black-start sequence on the power button allows a restart with no grid or PV.
CQ7-M is the controller module with BMS, DC switch and CAN connection to the inverter, and includes 6.96kWh of cells. CQ7-S is an extension module with cells only; every tower needs one CQ7-M.
Up to 14 modules, one CQ7-M and 13 CQ7-S, for 97.44kWh at 806.4V nominal, 2280mm high.
Yes, the modules are IP65 and FoxESS lists indoor and outdoor floor-standing installation, avoiding salt-affected coastal areas.
