Overview

SE-G5.1 Pro-B is a 5.12kWh, 51.2V lithium iron phosphate module in 19-inch format, 133mm high (440×133×540mm, 45kg), for low-voltage hybrid and off-grid inverters. It delivers 100A continuous and 150A for 2 minutes, has its own 125A two-pole breaker and can be installed in a cabinet, on a bracket or on the wall. Banks grow from one module to 32 in parallel, or 64 with extra setup; Deye's brochure combines 3 to 12 modules with 12kW and 15kW inverters.

  • 5.12kWh, 100Ah, 51.2V LiFePO4 module
  • 19-inch format: rack, bracket or wall mounting
  • Up to 32 in parallel, 64 (327kWh) with setup
  • 100A continuous, 150A for 2 minutes
  • Built-in 125A two-pole circuit breaker
  • CAN 2.0, RS485, USB firmware update

How it works

SE-G5.1 Pro-B is a low-voltage battery module in 19-inch format with 100Ah lithium iron phosphate cells, 51.2V nominal and a 43.2–57.6V operating range. The BMS protects and balances the cells, and the front panel carries the power terminals, a 125A two-pole miniature circuit breaker rated 60V DC, the BMS switch, a dry contact output, RJ45 ports for the inverter and for parallel modules, and a USB port for firmware updates.

Each module stores 5.12kWh with 50A recommended, 100A maximum and 150A for 2 minutes at 25°C. Modules connect in parallel at 51.2V: up to 32 work without extra setup and up to 64 with additional configuration, for a maximum of 327kWh. Deye's brochure lists configurations of 3 to 12 modules with 12kW and 15kW inverters, for one to four hours of storage.

Key features

Deye rates the cells for at least 6000 cycles at 0.5C and 90% depth of discharge to 70% end of life, with 16MWh energy throughput per module. Cooling is natural and the IP20 module works from -20 to 55°C in discharge and 0 to 55°C in charge. The warranty is 5 or 10 years depending on the installation country, under Deye's warranty letter. Module addresses are assigned automatically, and firmware can be updated remotely or from a USB drive.

Installation and compatibility

The module fits a standard 19-inch cabinet or rack at least 600mm deep, a simple floor bracket, or a wall with the supplied lugs and four expansion bolts; the manual shows wall clearances of at least 200, 300 and 400mm. With IP20 protection it belongs in a dry indoor room, at 5–95% humidity and up to 2000m. Switch on the circuit breaker first and then the power button, so that the pre-charge function works.

For inverters up to 12kW, parallel modules can feed the inverter through busbars, whose cables must carry the inverter's full battery current: about 240A for 12kW at 51.2V, with 50mm² cable or larger recommended. Above 12kW the manual requires its second parallel layout for high-power systems. The PCS port of the first module connects to the inverter's battery communication port, CAN at 500kbps or RS485 at 9600bps.

Monitoring and settings

Five LEDs show state of charge in 20% steps, and run, alarm and error LEDs show status, protection and upgrade activity. Battery data reach the inverter through the PCS port, and in a parallel bank the OUT port of each module is chained to the IN port of the next so that all modules report. Installers can read single modules on a PC through the communication port with Deye's monitoring software.

Questions and answers

How many SE-G5.1 Pro-B modules can be paralleled?

Up to 32 modules without additional setup and up to 64 (327kWh) with extra configuration, according to Deye's brochure.

Does it need a rack?

No. It fits a standard 19-inch cabinet or rack at least 600mm deep, but can also stand on a simple bracket or be wall-mounted with the supplied lugs.

What cable does a bank of modules need?

The cables from the busbars to the inverter must carry the inverter's full battery current. For a 12kW inverter at 51.2V Deye states 240A, with 50mm² cable or larger recommended. For inverters above 12kW the manual's second parallel layout applies.

How is the firmware updated?

Through the USB port on the front panel with a USB drive, or remotely, as Deye supports remote monitoring and upgrades.
