Overview

GE-F240-BC-2-A3 is the largest cabinet of Deye's GE-F240 series: fifteen 16.08kWh lithium iron phosphate modules in series for 241.15kWh at 768V nominal (600–876V), with 121kW rated DC power and 180A continuous current. The IP55 cabinet of 1303×2405.5×1240mm weighs 2610kg and includes air conditioning, aerosol suppression, gas detection, explosion venting and a water inlet. It is meant for cutting electricity costs, backup and renewable integration on commercial sites, with a Deye 50–125kW hybrid inverter or 125kW PCS mounted alongside.

  • 176.84, 208.99 or 241.15kWh in one outdoor cabinet
  • 16.08kWh, 314Ah modules, 11 to 15 in series
  • IP55, operation from -30 to 55°C
  • Air conditioner, aerosol and water fire interface
  • Inverter brackets on the cabinet wall
  • ≥8000 cycles, 10-year warranty

How it works

The GE-F240 series, part of Deye's ORION E range, is an outdoor battery cabinet that houses BOS-B-Pack16-A3 modules (314Ah, 51.2V, 16.08kWh), a BOS-B-PDU-2-A distribution unit with BMS, an air conditioner and a fire suppression system. GE-F176-BC-2-A3 holds 11 modules at 563.2V, GE-F208-BC-2-A3 13 modules at 665.6V and GE-F240-BC-2-A3 15 modules at 768V, for 176.84 to 241.15kWh.

Recommended current is 157A and maximum continuous current 180A, with 285A discharge peaks for 15 seconds between 20 and 45°C; rated DC power is 88, 104 or 121kW. The cabinet pairs with a Deye hybrid inverter mounted on its side wall, which links PV, grid, loads, generator and battery, so a single cabinet can form a PV plus storage or PV, storage and diesel system.

Safety and thermal management

Deye describes six layers of protection: electrical isolation, fire detection, active exhaust, explosion venting, fire suppression and thermal isolation. Inside are smoke, heat and CO detectors, an aerosol unit triggered electrically or by flame, two explosion venting panels and a DN40 inlet for a customer-provided water supply, with a manual master valve at least 3m from the cabinet. The air conditioner keeps cell temperature spread within 6°C, without derating up to 45°C.

Installation and compatibility

The cabinet stands on a concrete foundation at least 300mm above the surrounding ground, levelled to 3mm, extended 100mm beyond the cabinet and with cable trenches for bottom entry. For several cabinets the manual sets clearances of 100mm and 1500mm, as drawn in its layout. Sites must be more than 2km from the coast and at set distances from pollution sources; corrosion protection is C4-M as standard, up to C5 on request.

Two accessory kits cover the inverter connection: GE-F256-AP-A for SUN-125K-SG02HP3-EU-GM10, SUN-80K-SG02HP3-EU-EM6, SUN-50K-SG01HP3-EU-BM4 and SUN-50K-SG02HP3-EU-BM4, and GE-F256-AP-C for the SUN-125K-PCS01HP3 with MPPT and STS modules. Deye allows up to 10 cabinet systems in parallel on the AC side or 10 on the DC battery side. The PDU needs a 200–240V, 3A auxiliary supply for its fans.

Monitoring and settings

A coloured Deye logo on the door shows standby or discharge, charge, alarm and fault, and the PDU display shows state of charge and fault codes. The battery reports to the inverter over CAN 2.0 or Modbus RS485, and the system can be monitored and controlled in Deye Cloud through the inverter, the web portal or Bluetooth on site. An emergency power-off button and a manual service disconnect allow safe isolation for maintenance.

Questions and answers

Which inverters can be connected to a GE-F240 cabinet?

Deye's accessory kit GE-F256-AP-A covers SUN-125K-SG02HP3-EU-GM10, SUN-80K-SG02HP3-EU-EM6, SUN-50K-SG01HP3-EU-BM4 and SUN-50K-SG02HP3-EU-BM4 series inverters; GE-F256-AP-C covers the SUN-125K-PCS01HP3 with MPPT and STS modules.

What foundation does the cabinet need?

A non-combustible, level foundation, by default C30 concrete 200mm thick on a 100mm C15 bed, at least 300mm above the surrounding ground and above the highest local water level, with a levelness error of 3mm or less.

Can the cabinet work in hot or cold climates?

It operates from -30 to 55°C with its own air conditioner; Deye states no derating up to 45°C and derated operation above that.

How is a cabinet fire handled?

Smoke, heat and CO detectors trigger an aerosol suppression unit, explosion panels vent pressure and active exhaust removes gas. A DN40 water inlet allows a water supply as the last barrier, with a manual valve at least 3m away.
