Overview

GB-W120 is the ten-module configuration of Deye's GB-W indoor commercial battery: ten GB-W-Pack12-2-A3 modules in series with a GB-W-PDU-2, for 120.3kWh at 512V nominal (416–584V) and 108.2kWh usable at 90% depth of discharge. Nominal charge and discharge power is 117.7kW, with 230A continuous and 322A for one second. With natural air cooling, aerosol fire suppression and C4 corrosion class, it suits indoor plant rooms and pairs with Deye's 30–125kW high-voltage hybrid inverters and PCS.

  • 12.03kWh, 235Ah, 51.2V LiFePO4 modules
  • 5–16 modules per cluster: 60.1–192.5kWh
  • 230A continuous, 322A peak for 1 second
  • Natural air cooling, aerosol fire suppression
  • Cable-free stacking with quick connectors
  • ≥6000 cycles, 10-year warranty

What's in the kit

  • 10 × Deye GB-W-Pack12-2-A3
  • 1 × Deye GB-W-PDU-2

How it works

GB-W, marketed as ORION W, is Deye's modular indoor battery for small and medium commercial and industrial sites. The base, GB-W-Pack12-2-A3 modules, GB-W-PDU-2 control unit and top cover are stacked, and modules connect to each other through quick connectors. Each module holds 235Ah at 51.2V, or 12.03kWh, and 5 to 16 modules form one high-voltage cluster in series.

The smallest cluster, GB-W60, runs at 256V and 60.1kWh; GB-W120 with ten modules at 512V and 120.3kWh; GB-W192 with sixteen at 819.2V and 192.5kWh. Charge and discharge current is 230A continuous with 322A for one second, so nominal power grows from 58.8kW to 188.4kW. Deye's brochure gives usable energy at 90% depth of discharge, for example 108.2kWh on GB-W120.

Key features

Cooling is natural, through directional air ducts with dust filters, and Deye states a cell temperature spread below 4°C. Fire protection uses aerosol suppression, and each module has a quick-release service panel so wearing parts can be replaced without removing the module. Deye's declaration under Article 10 of the EU Battery Regulation lists 94% round-trip efficiency and at least 6000 cycles to 70% state of health, and the warranty is 10 years.

Installation and compatibility

GB-W is for indoor use only, on a solid, level floor, at up to 3000m and 0–85% humidity, and its C4 anti-corrosion class allows sites more than 2km from the coast. Leveling feet on the base adjust by up to 40mm. Two or three arrays can stand side by side, joined by a telescopic slide rail that carries power and communication cables. The manual specifies clearances of up to 900mm, so check the drawing during site planning.

Deye designs the system for its 30–125kW three-phase high-voltage hybrid inverters and 100/125kW PCS modules. The PDU connects to the inverter's battery terminals through quick-plug cables, and its INV/PCS port carries CAN or RS485 (Modbus RTU) data. Several clusters can share one inverter through a DC bus, with their PDUs daisy-chained and a terminal resistor at the last PDU.

Monitoring and settings

The PDU has a display, a DC switch and a BMS switch; start-up runs from circuit breaker to BMS switch to inverter. Bluetooth lets the Deye Cloud app commission the system, set parameters and diagnose faults on site, and a TCP port provides remote networking. With a Deye inverter on Wi-Fi or a data collector stick, battery data appear in Deye Cloud under the inverter's architecture page.

Questions and answers

How many modules make a GB-W system?

Between 5 and 16 GB-W-Pack12-2-A3 modules in series per cluster, with one GB-W-PDU-2, a base and a top cover. Five modules give 60.1kWh at 256V and sixteen give 192.5kWh at 819.2V.

Which inverters is GB-W designed for?

Deye states compatibility with its 30–125kW high-voltage hybrid inverters and with the 100/125kW PCS modules of its commercial range.

Does GB-W need air conditioning?

No active cooling is required by design: the system uses natural air cooling with directional ducts and dust filters. It must still be installed indoors within 0–55°C for charging and -20–55°C for discharging.

Can GB-W be installed near the sea?

The anti-corrosion class is C4, and Deye's manual allows installation more than 2km from the coastline, indoors.
