Who we areNew, original Dekalin products with full manufacturer warranty, supplied with their documentation.
The 30ml can of Dekalin DEKAVATOR, a transparent primer and cleaner that prepares surfaces for MS polymer adhesives such as DEKASYL. It suits small jobs like bonding solar panel brackets to a campervan roof made of aluminium, GRP or ABS. Wipe it on, wait about 5 minutes and apply the adhesive within 4 hours. With a coverage of about 20m² per litre, one can treats roughly 0.6m² of surface.
DEKAVATOR acts as a chemical bridge between the substrate and Dekalin adhesives and sealants based on MS polymer, such as DEKASYL. Dekalin recommends it for closed, smooth surfaces and for plastics with low surface tension, or whenever the composition of the substrate is unknown. On campervans and caravans Dekalin shows it being used to clean and prepare surfaces before bonding solar panel brackets.
The manufacturer lists aluminium, steel, copper and brass, powder-coated and painted metal, glass including ceramic-coated glass, polyester (GRP), ABS and PVC. On painted metal the compatibility of the solvent with the paint should be tested first. DEKAVATOR is not compatible with paints, so areas that will be painted later must be masked off; residues can be removed with DEKACLEAN ULTRA.
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dust and grease; heavily soiled areas are first cleaned with DEKACLEAN ULTRA or acetone. Wipe a thin coat on firmly with a clean, lint-free cloth moistened with DEKAVATOR and let the solvent flash off for about 5 minutes, longer at low temperature. The adhesive or sealant gives the best bond when applied within 4 hours, so prime only what can be bonded in that time and do not touch the treated surface.
The liquid must stay clear: if it turns milky it should no longer be used. Keep it away from water until it has cured on the substrate and close the can immediately after use. Consumption is about 20m² per litre.
Store between +5°C and +30°C, away from direct sunlight and heat; unopened cans keep for 12 months in cool, dry conditions. DEKAVATOR is a flammable liquid classified under the CLP regulation, with hazards for eyes, skin and aquatic life; read the safety data sheet before use and work with good ventilation.

About 5 minutes at 20°C and 50% relative humidity, longer at lower temperatures. Apply the adhesive within 4 hours of drying for the best bond.
Dekalin gives a consumption of about 20m² per litre, which works out at roughly 0.6m² for 30ml.
No. DEKAVATOR is not compatible with paints, so mask off areas that will be painted later.
