Who we areNew, original BYD products with full manufacturer warranty, supplied with their documentation.
The 4kWh building block of the BYD Battery-Box Premium LVS: a 51.2V lithium iron phosphate module of 45kg that slots into an LVS tower without cables. One module with base, PDU and the LV BMU makes the LVS 4.0 system, delivering 65A continuously and 90A for five seconds; further modules raise a tower to 24kWh or extend an existing LVS installation. It suits 48V hybrid and off-grid inverters on BYD's LVS configuration list, such as Victron, SMA Sunny Island and Studer.
A Battery-Box Premium LVS tower stacks one to six 4kWh battery modules on a base, with a power distribution unit (PDU) on top. Modules connect through blind-mating plugs, without cabling. Communication with the inverter and with the internet is handled by the separate Battery-Box Premium LV BMU-IP55, which every system needs. Each module weighs 45kg and adds 233mm to the tower height; a complete LVS 4.0 with one module stands 528mm tall and weighs 64kg, an LVS 24.0 with six modules 1,693mm and 289kg.
Nominal voltage is 51.2V with an operating window of 40–57.6V. Usable energy is stated at 100% depth of discharge (0.2C, 25°C). Continuous output is 65A with one module, 130A with two, 195A with three and 250A from four modules upwards, with 5-second peaks of 90A per module up to 360A.
Round-trip efficiency is at least 95%. Towers can be paralleled up to 64 modules (256kWh), but only towers with one to four modules; the five- and six-module LVS 20.0 and LVS 24.0 must stay single towers, and BYD caps their load at 12.8kW.
The LVS is approved for indoor and outdoor floor installation (IP55) between -10°C and +50°C, 5–95% humidity, below 3000m and out of direct sun. The base stands 12–19mm from the wall. Charging is derated between -10°C and +5°C. Only inverters on the BYD LVS minimum configuration list may be used, each with a minimum module count and firmware level. The list includes Victron, SMA Sunny Island, Studer, Selectronic, GoodWe, Sungrow, SolarEdge, Solis, Deye and Schneider models for on-grid, backup and off-grid systems.
The BMU has WLAN and Ethernet as standard. The Be Connect app configures the system and updates firmware; Be Connect Monitoring lets BYD service diagnose a connected system remotely. Under the European residential warranty BYD covers defects for 10 years and guarantees 60% of usable energy for 10 years or until a minimum throughput (11.88MWh per 4kWh) is reached, whichever comes first.
Each tower needs a base and a PDU, and every system needs the Battery-Box Premium LV BMU-IP55, which handles communication with the inverter.
One to six modules in a single tower (4–24kWh). For parallel towers each tower may hold one to four modules, up to 64 modules and 256kWh in total.
Yes. The system is rated IP55 for indoor or outdoor floor mounting, but it must not be exposed to direct sunlight and the ambient temperature must stay between -10°C and +50°C.
Only the models on BYD's LVS minimum configuration list, which also gives the minimum number of modules and firmware versions. It covers Victron, SMA, Studer, Selectronic, GoodWe, Sungrow, SolarEdge, Solis, Deye and Schneider inverters.
