Weco TK-30K-XL30kW three-phase high-voltage hybrid inverter, 4 MPPT

Overview

The TK-30K-XL is a 30kW, 33kVA three-phase hybrid inverter for WeCo high-voltage batteries. Four MPP trackers with two strings each accept up to 45kW of PV, and the battery is charged and discharged at up to 100A. Maximum efficiency is 98.8%, and the 72kg IP65 housing is wall-mounted. CEI 0-21, CEI 0-16, EN 50549-1 and VDE-AR-N 4105 certificates are published for the TK 25–50kW range.

How it works

The TK series is a transformerless three-phase hybrid inverter for WeCo high-voltage LFP batteries between 135 and 750V. The 20kW model (TK-20K-M) has two MPP trackers and 40A battery current; the 25–50kW models (XL versions in the manual) have four trackers and 100A. Every tracker takes two strings with 30A input and 40A short-circuit current, within a 200–850V MPPT range and 1000V maximum.

PV array power can reach 150% of the AC rating, from 30kW on the 20kW model to 75kW on the 50kW. The backup output supplies the full rated power at 400V three-phase, switching over within 10ms on the 20kW and 20ms on the larger models; for the 25–50kW range the manual adds 60-second peaks of 30 to 60kVA. Maximum apparent power drawn from the grid ranges from 30 to 60kVA.

Key features

Efficiency is 98.4% maximum and 97.5% European on the 20kW, and 98.8% and 98.3% from 25kW. Protection includes PV isolator, string and battery reverse polarity protection, residual current monitoring, anti-islanding and AC overcurrent, short-circuit and overvoltage protection. Power control and zero-export control are built in, and several inverters can be connected in parallel over CAN as described in WeCo's TK parallel guide.

Installation and compatibility

The TK is wall-mounted: the 20kW model weighs 31kg (534×418×210mm), the 25–50kW models 72kg (800×620×300mm). The enclosure is IP65 with smart forced cooling, rated for −25 to +60°C and 4000m with derating above 3000m. WeCo recommends 1500mm from the floor to the bottom of the inverter, protection from direct sun, rain and snow, and no installation in coastal salt-spray areas. The 25–50kW models ship with a three-CT meter, a 10m meter cable and a Wi-Fi module.

WeCo publishes CEI 0-21 certificates for the TK 4–20 and TK 25–50 combined with several WeCo batteries, CEI 0-16 certificates for the TK 25–50, and EN 50549-1 and VDE-AR-N 4105 certificates for the 25–50kW models, plus Italian guides for the CEI 0-21 self-test and technical addendum. The manual lists the generator port of the 25–50kW models as a future function.

Monitoring and settings

Monitoring and settings use the Wi-Fi stick with WeCo's app, and an LED bar shows the operating state. The inverter warranty is five years, extendable to ten when a WeCo lithium storage system is connected and the product is registered.
