Overview

SUN-30K-SG02HP3-EU-AM3 is a 30kW three-phase hybrid inverter (33kVA maximum) for 160–700V lithium batteries, charged and discharged at up to 75A. Three MPP trackers with two strings each take up to 60kW of PV access power and 48kW of input power at up to 1000V, at 98.5% peak efficiency. With 80A pass-through, backup output and up to 10 units in parallel, it serves farms, workshops and commercial buildings that combine a large PV array with high-voltage storage.

  • 25, 29.9 or 30kW three-phase, HV battery 160–700V
  • 75A charge and discharge current
  • 3 MPPT, 36A each, up to 60kW PV access
  • 98.5% max., 98.0% European efficiency
  • 80A pass-through, 100% unbalanced output
  • Up to 10 units in parallel, on- or off-grid

How it works

The SG02HP3-EU-AM3 series covers the 25–30kW range of Deye's three-phase high-voltage hybrid inverters. One transformerless IP65 unit handles PV, a 160–700V lithium battery charged and discharged at up to 75A, the grid, backup loads and a generator. Battery limits come from the BMS, and parallel systems require batteries from Deye's approved list.

Three MPP trackers with two strings each accept 36A per tracker, up to 1000V and a 150–850V tracking range, for up to 60kW of PV access power on the 30kW model. Grid-to-load pass-through is 80A, off-grid peak power is 1.5 times rated for 10 seconds and the output may be fully unbalanced. Maximum efficiency is 98.5% and European efficiency 98.0%.

Key features

Six time periods set charging and discharging, with Selling First, Zero Export to Load and Zero Export to CT work modes. The GEN port accepts a diesel generator, drives a smart load or receives AC-coupled on-grid inverters, and a G-start contact can start the generator. Up to 10 units of the same model can be paralleled on-grid or off-grid; lead-acid batteries and the no-battery mode are not supported in parallel systems.

Installation and compatibility

The 46kg inverter (448×688×270mm) mounts on a solid wall, with about 50cm free around it and at least 100cm in front, at up to 2000m according to the manual. Deye recommends 100A breakers for the grid and backup ports, 16mm² AC cable and 10mm² battery cable with DC overcurrent protection. Three 100A/50mA CTs are supplied; for CT cables over 10m or currents above 100A in parallel systems, a smart meter is recommended.

The datasheet lists IEC 61727, IEC 62116, CEI 0-21, EN 50549, NRS 097, RD 140, UNE 217002, OVE-Richtlinie R25, G99 and VDE-AR-N 4105, and Deye publishes certificates including VDE-AR-N 4105, EN 50549-10, Spanish RD 647 and UNE 217001, Polish NC RfG and a CB report to IEC 62109.

Monitoring and settings

An LCD with LED indicators gives access to battery, work mode, grid and GEN port menus. Interfaces are RS485, RS232 and CAN, and monitoring through Deye Cloud uses an optional GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G or LAN logger. The operating range is -40 to 60°C, with derating above 45°C, and noise is 55dB or less. The warranty is 5 years, extendable to 10 years depending on the installation country.

Questions and answers

Why is there a 29.9kW model?

Deye offers SUN-29.9K-SG02HP3-EU-AM3 with 29.9kW rated and 29.9kVA maximum apparent power next to the 30kW model with 33kVA; its maximum PV access power is 59.8kW instead of 60kW. Battery and PV input limits are otherwise identical.

Which batteries can be used?

Lithium-ion batteries between 160 and 700V that communicate with the inverter's BMS port. For parallel systems Deye requires batteries from its approved battery list.

What breakers and cables are recommended?

100A AC breakers on the grid and backup ports, 16mm² AC cable and 10mm² battery cable, with a DC overcurrent protection device between battery and inverter.

How large can the PV array be?

Up to 60kW of PV access power on the 30kW model (48kW input power), on three MPP trackers with two strings each and 36A per tracker.
