Overview

The 5K0-LT is WeCo's compact 51.2V module: 5.12kWh of LFP storage in a 46kg case only 155mm deep that hangs on the wall or stacks up to five high. It works with low-voltage hybrid and off-grid inverters over CAN, allows up to 98% depth of discharge and handles 0.5C as standard current, up to 1C. Fifteen modules run in parallel without extra hardware, and the LV hub extends this to 105. The IP20 rating limits it to indoor technical rooms.

How it works

The 5K0-LT is a universal 51.2V battery for low-voltage hybrid and off-grid inverters. Its BMS manages charge and discharge over CAN with a three-step adaptive logic, pre-charge and MOSFET protection, three protection levels and real-time balancing. Usable capacity is 100Ah from 103Ah gross, depth of discharge reaches 98%, and current is 0.5C as standard with up to 1C maximum.

Up to 15 modules can be connected in direct parallel; larger systems of up to 105 modules, 537kWh in the datasheet, use the LV hub, which only works with WeCo-approved inverters over CAN. Connecting more than 15 units without it voids the warranty. Before combining the 5K0-LT with older WeCo series, installers must send the serial numbers to WeCo to receive a dedicated guide and firmware.

Key features

The module is compact at 492×580×155mm and 46kg and offers RS485, CAN, RS232 and two programmable DI/DO. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth monitoring use an external dongle that can serve a single battery or a whole cluster through the WeCo app. The datasheet gives more than 6000 cycles at 25°C, and the performance warranty covers 120 months or 6000 cycles.

Installation and compatibility

With IP20 protection the 5K0-LT is for indoor use only, in a ventilated, temperature-controlled technical room; even a sheltered outdoor spot is excluded. Modules ship in wall configuration: keep 20cm between batteries and to side walls, and WeCo suggests at least 100cm from the floor to the underside for easier maintenance. For floor towers the rear bracket is left off and up to five units are stacked on rubber supports.

Parallel modules are joined with copper busbars, available as an accessory, or with cables of equal length and section, plus RJ45 communication cables and DIP-switch addressing. WeCo publishes quick guides for Victron Color Control and for single-phase GoodWe ES, Ingeteam, Schneider, SMA, Solis and Studer inverters, and its own ESY inverter holds a CEI 0-21 certificate with the 5K0-LT.
