Overview

Six Lithium NG 25.6V 300Ah batteries make three 51.2V strings of two in series: 900Ah and 46.08kWh. The strings are divided into two independent banks, each with Class T protection on a Lynx Class-T Power In and its own Lynx Smart BMS 500 NG, joined on a Lynx Distributor. The bank holding one string still supplies 300A at 1C. Inverter/charger options are the Quattro 48/10000/140-100/100 with 20000W peak, the Quattro 48/8000/110-100/100 and the MultiPlus-II 48/6k5/100-50. Cerbo GX MK2, GX Touch 70 and an Orion-Tr 48/12-30A are included.

How the systems work

Each kit is a complete DC side built from Victron parts. Lithium NG batteries contain LiFePO4 cells, cell balancing and an integrated shunt, and send cell voltages and temperatures over M8 cables to a Lynx Smart BMS NG. The BMS calculates state of charge, pre-charges the inverter capacitors and opens its contactor, rated 500A or 1000A continuous, if a cell leaves its limits. Over VE.Can it reports to a Cerbo GX MK2, which uses DVCC to steer the charge and discharge currents of the inverter/charger.

For 24V the kits parallel 25.6V batteries; for 48V they parallel 51.2V batteries or use strings of two 25.6V batteries in series, the maximum Victron allows, with identical capacity. Every kit splits its batteries into two banks, each behind its own Lynx Smart BMS NG, using Victron's parallel redundancy feature: if one BMS disconnects its bank, the other keeps the system running, within the current that bank can deliver.

Inverter/chargers and distribution

Depending on the kit, the AC side is a MultiPlus-II 24/5000/120-50 or 48/6k5/100-50 with one AC input, or a Quattro with two AC inputs for grid and generator, from 24/5000 to 48/15000; three Quattro 48/15000 units form a three-phase system. Batteries connect through Class T fuses and the inverter through MEGA fuses on Lynx Distributor busbars, whose fuses the BMS monitors. An isolated Orion-Tr DC-DC converter supplies a 12V circuit with up to 30A.

What the installer adds

Solar chargers and panels, the AC distribution with breakers and residual current devices, battery racks or brackets, earthing and commissioning are not part of the kits. Lithium NG batteries are IP65, but the BMS stops charging below 5°C, so winter charging needs a frost-free room. Cable sections and fuse ratings are chosen for a compact layout with batteries, Lynx busbars and inverter close together; longer runs need new calculations. Grid-parallel ESS operation requires the certificates and settings of the destination country.
