This 40ft container holds 828 Trina Solar Vertex S+ Shield TSM-460NED9R.28 modules, 380.88kWp in total, packed in 23 boxes of 36. The 460Wp class reaches 23.0% efficiency with 45.4V and 10.14A at maximum power, 53.8V Voc and 10.81A Isc. Every module has 2.5mm front and 2.0mm rear heat-strengthened glass, a +7000Pa/-5000Pa load capacity, class A+A fire rating and a 25-year EU product warranty, in the 1,762×1,134×30mm format at 27kg.

What the Shield version changes

The NED9R.28 keeps the 1,762×1,134×30mm footprint and 144-cell layout of the Vertex S+ residential module but uses thicker glass: 2.5mm anti-reflective heat-strengthened glass on the front and 2.0mm on the rear. Trina rates the standard load capacity at +7000Pa and -5000Pa, states a VKF HW4 hail test and a class A+A fire rating to IEC 61730-2. The extra glass raises the weight to 27kg, against 21.0kg for the standard NEG9R.28.

Electrical data

The EU datasheet (2026-A) covers 450–475Wp with 22.5–23.8% efficiency and a 0/+5W power selection; an earlier global version lists 445–470Wp. The electrical values follow the NEG9R.28: open-circuit voltage 52.9–55.0V, short-circuit current 10.74–10.93A, coefficients of -0.29%/°C for Pmax and -0.24%/°C for Voc, NOCT 43±2°C. Maximum system voltage is 1500V DC (IEC) and the series fuse rating 25A. The junction box is IP68 with three bypass diodes.

Installation notes from the manual

Trina's Vertex user manual lists separate load ratings for the NED9R.28. With four clamps on the long frame and rails across it, the module is rated for 5000Pa uplift and 7000Pa downforce. Other clamp layouts carry lower loads, so the full table should be checked against the local snow and wind design. Components connected to the array are sized with 1.25 times the marked Voc and Isc, and modules are kept at least 5mm apart.

Warranty and packing

The EU datasheet states a 25-year product workmanship warranty and a 30-year power warranty, with no more than 1% loss in the first year and 0.4% per year afterwards; the global 2025-A datasheet shows a 15-year product warranty. Packing is 36 modules per box and, because of the heavier glass, 828 per 40ft container in the EU datasheet. Cables are 4.0mm², 1100mm each in landscape.
