Overview

The S6-GC3P60K05-NV-ND is the 60kW model of the Solis S6-GC3P(40-60)K-NV-ND series and the only one in the range with five MPP trackers. Each tracker accepts two strings and 42A, or 21A per string, at 180–1000V and up to 1100V, for ten strings in total on large commercial roofs. It delivers 60kW, 91.2A/86.6A, at 98.6% peak and 98.1% European efficiency. The housing weighs 38.6kg, uses LED indicators with Bluetooth set-up, and Solis specifies a 125A AC protection device.

How it works

The S6-GC3P(40-60)K-NV-ND is a transformerless three-phase string inverter for commercial and agricultural PV systems on 380/400V networks. The 40kW and 50kW models have four MPP trackers and the 60kW model five, each taking two strings with up to 42A per tracker, or 21A per string, which matches current high-power modules. The MPPT range is 180–1000V with a maximum input of 1100V. Solis states a DC/AC ratio above 150%. Rated and maximum AC output are equal, at 98.6% peak and 98.1% European efficiency, and night-time self-consumption is below 1W.

Key features

Each string is monitored and a smart I-V curve scan helps find faulty or soiled modules, while a multi-peak scan handles partial shading. AFCI 2.0 arc fault protection and night-time PID recovery are optional, DC and AC type II surge protection and a DC switch are integrated. Two independent RS485 ports allow communication with a logger and other devices at the same time.

An export power management function is set in the EPM menu and works with a meter connected to the inverter, as described in the meter connection chapter of the manual. The export limit is entered in the app, and grid parameters such as voltage and frequency limits are adjusted in the grid parameter settings of the same menu.

Installation and compatibility

The IP66 housing measures 508×612×288mm and weighs 34.9kg, 35.8kg or 38.6kg depending on the model, with intelligent fan cooling and noise up to 55dB(A). Solis asks for 500mm between inverters and from the ground. Recommended AC protection is 80A for the 40kW, 100A for the 50kW and 125A for the 60kW model; aluminium cables need bimetallic terminals or anti-oxidant grease.

The manual lists maximum AC cable lengths per model and states compatibility with IT, TT and TN systems. For Italy, Solis publishes CEI 0-21 and CEI 0-16 declarations and certificates; EN 50549-1, VDE-AR-N 4105 and safety certificates are also available.

Monitoring and settings

Status is shown by LED indicators, and commissioning and settings are done in the Solis app over Bluetooth. RS485 is standard; remote monitoring through SolisCloud uses an optional Wi-Fi or GPRS data logging stick. Grid parameters, EPM settings and firmware updates are handled through the app, as described in the user manual.
