Overview

The RHI-3P5K-HVES-5G is the 5kW model of the Solis RHI-3P three-phase hybrid series for high-voltage lithium batteries. Two MPP trackers of 13A take one string each, with up to 8kW of recommended PV and 1000V maximum input. The battery port works from 160V to 600V at 25A, so 5kW of charging is possible. Its backup output delivers 5kW continuously and 10kVA for 60 seconds, and the fanless IP65 housing weighs 25.1kg.

How it works

The RHI-3P(5-10)K-HVES-5G is a Solis three-phase hybrid inverter for homes with a high-voltage lithium battery. Two MPP trackers handle up to 1000V of PV input, with a 200–850V tracking range, while the battery port accepts 160–600V at up to 25A over CAN or RS485 communication. A three-phase Eastron meter at the grid connection point controls self-consumption and export.

In the default automatic mode, surplus PV energy is stored in the battery and used for household loads instead of being exported. A timed charging mode and an off-grid mode can be selected on the display. Solar conversion efficiency reaches 98.4% maximum and 97.7% European, with 97.5% battery charge and discharge efficiency.

Backup output

A dedicated three-phase backup port supplies critical loads during a grid failure, switching over in under 40ms. Its rated output equals the inverter rating, and peak apparent power is 10kVA (5kW model), 12kVA (6kW) or 16kVA (8 and 10kW) for 60 seconds. The backup port must never be connected to the grid, and Solis states that the series does not support parallel operation on the backup port; doing so voids the warranty.

Installation and compatibility

All models share a 535×455×181mm IP65 housing weighing 25.1kg, cooled by natural convection with noise below 30dB(A) and night consumption below 7W. Keep at least 500mm between inverters or other objects and 500mm from the bottom of the unit to the ground. PV uses MC4 connectors and AC uses quick-connect plugs.

Approved batteries are in the RHI-3P section of the Solis battery matching list, including BYD Battery-Box Premium HVS/HVM, Dyness Tower and Tower Pro, Pylontech Force H1/H2 and Force-H3, and WECO 5K3. Grid codes listed include CEI 0-21, VDE-AR-N 4105, VDE V 0124, EN 50549-1/-2, G98/G99 and RD 1699.

Monitoring and settings

Settings and live values are shown on a two-line LCD with four keys, including battery, backup, meter and DRM status. RS485 is standard, and Solis Wi-Fi or GPRS data loggers connect the inverter to SolisCloud for remote monitoring. A DRM input can reduce output power to zero within 5 seconds when an external contact opens.
