Overview

The X3-ULT-20KP adds a third MPP tracker to the 20kW X3-ULTRA platform, so up to six strings at 36A per tracker can be connected and up to 40kWp of PV is recommended. Output is 20000VA rated and 22000VA maximum, the two battery ports share 60A and 20kW of charge or discharge power, and the EPS output carries 20000VA. The three-tracker layout suits sites with several roof faces; the unit weighs 47.5kg.

How it works

The X3-ULTRA is SolaX's three-phase hybrid inverter for commercial and industrial sites and other large installations. It combines PV, two high-voltage battery inputs, grid connection and an EPS output that takes over in less than 10ms as a single unit. On grid it runs in Self-use, Feed-in Priority, Backup, Peak Shaving, TOU, Smart Schedule or Manual mode, and it also offers EPS, microgrid and generator operation.

Without a parallel box up to three inverters work together. With an X3-EPS Parallel Box G2 (X3-PBOX-150kW-G2.1) the 15kW model scales to ten units and the 30kW model to five; with the 300kW version ten 30kW units are possible. Smart load control for heat pumps and EV chargers reacts within 0.3 seconds.

Key features

Each MPP tracker accepts two strings and 36A, with 45A short-circuit current, for high-power modules. Models without P suffix up to 20kW have two trackers, the 25kW, 30kW and the P versions three. The input range is 120–950V with 1000V maximum and 200V start-up, and SolaX allows PV arrays of twice the rated power, up to 60kWp on the 30kW model.

The two battery ports deliver 60A in total (30A each) over 120–800V; below 180V the current is limited to 20A. EPS output equals rated power and doubles for 10 seconds. Maximum efficiency is 98.0% and European efficiency 97.7%, with smart fan cooling, Type II surge protection on AC and DC and optional AFCI.

Installation and compatibility

The IP66 housing measures 696×526×240mm and weighs 46–48.5kg, operating from -35°C to +60°C with derating above 45°C. Leave at least 30cm between inverters and 10cm free below the terminals for cable bending. The manual names T-BAT-SYS-HV-S2.5/S3.6, T-BAT-SYS-HV-5.8, T-BAT-SYS-HV-3.0 and TSYS-HS51 as compatible batteries; with HS series a minimum of three modules applies.

Grid certifications include VDE-AR-N 4105, G99, AS 4777, EN 50549, CEI 0-21, IEC 61727, RD1699 and TOR. SolaX publishes CEI 0-21 and CEI 0-16 certificates for the X3-ULT-15K to 30K models, covering Italian low-voltage and medium-voltage connections, and an EU declaration of conformity for the series.

Monitoring and settings

Monitoring and remote settings run through SolaXCloud with a SolaX Pocket WiFi or Pocket LAN dongle; only SolaX monitoring dongles are supported. Communication interfaces are RS485, CAN, DRM and digital inputs and outputs, and VPP protocols such as OpenADR and IEEE 2030.5 are being added by SolaX. Night-time consumption is below 5W.
