Overview

The TB-HS51 is the 5.1kWh LFP module of the SolaX TSYS-HS51 battery. Two to thirteen modules stack in series under one TBMS-S51-8 BMS, from 10.2kWh to 66.5kWh at 102.4–665.6V, with up to 70A charge and discharge current. Each module weighs 47kg and measures 600×168×376mm. SolaX three-phase hybrids such as the X3-Hybrid G4 and X3-HYB G4 PRO need at least three modules, plus the BMS and base.

How it works

A TSYS-HS51 system is built from a base, two to thirteen TB-HS51 modules in series and a TBMS-S51-8 BMS. Each module adds 51.2V and 5.1kWh, so systems run from T-HS10.2 (two modules, 102.4V) to T-HS66.5 (thirteen modules, 665.6V). Above ten modules the stack is split into two towers joined by a series box, and SolaX states that a TCBox-70 allows up to three towers.

An optimizer version uses the TBMS-S51-8O BMS and TB-HS51O modules. It allows new and older modules to be mixed for capacity expansion and equalises a 20% difference in about three hours under lab conditions. The optimizer function only works when BMS, modules and series box are all optimizer versions.

Key features

Usable energy is 90% of nominal, for example 9.1kWh of 10.2kWh. Recommended current is 60A and maximum 70A, giving 6.1–39.9kW rated and 7.2–46.6kW maximum power depending on module count. SolaX states more than 6000 cycles at 90% depth of discharge. With heating the battery charges and discharges from -30°C to +53°C; without heating, charging needs at least 0°C.

The IP66 enclosure suits indoor and outdoor locations and includes an aerosol fire-suppression module. Remote fault diagnosis, upgrades and maintenance run through the inverter and SolaXCloud. Listed certifications are CE, RCM, IEC 62619, IEC 62620, IEC 62477-1, IEC 60730 Annex H, IEC 62040, VDE-AR-E 2510, IEC 60529, UN 38.3 and UL 9540A.

Installation and compatibility

Modules measure 600×168×376mm and weigh 47kg; the BMS and series box are 600×225×376mm. The stack stands on the floor with its base 80–100mm from the wall (100mm recommended). Reserve 400–800mm on both sides and enough height above the stack for later expansion; a 47kg module calls for safe lifting practice.

The X3-Hybrid G4 manual lists TSYS-HS51 with 3–13 TB-HS51 modules per BMS. The X3-HYB G4 PRO manual lists T-BAT-SYS-HV-S51 with 3–13 modules and 70A per terminal, the X3-ULTRA manual includes it, and SolaX offers an X3-AELIO+HS51 C&I solution with dedicated power cables.
