Overview

A three-phase home kit with 7.08kWp of PV, the SigenStor EC 6.0 TP energy controller and one SigenStor battery module: a BAT 6.0 with 5.84kWh usable or a BAT 10.0 with 9.04kWh total (8.76kWh usable). The 6kW controller sits on the module and takes up to 9.6kW of PV on two MPP trackers at up to 1,100V. One BAT 6.0 charges and discharges at 3,000W, one BAT 10.0 at 4,600W, and up to six modules can be stacked later. Backup operation requires a Sigen Gateway.

How the kits work

Each kit combines a SigenStor EC three-phase energy controller, one to three SigenStor BAT battery modules and a PV array. The controller contains the PV inverter, the battery converter and the energy management, and it sits directly on top of the battery stack. Solar power supplies the building first, then charges the battery, and the surplus is exported or limited. Every battery module carries its own optimiser, so modules of different age or charge level can share one stack.

Sigenergy's SigenStor Home manual allows different battery pack models in the same system, and one controller manages one to six modules. Capacity can therefore be raised later by adding BAT 6.0 or BAT 10.0 modules to the stack, without replacing the controller.

Kit versions

The 7.08kWp kit uses the SigenStor EC 6.0 TP, rated 6kW with two MPP trackers and 9.6kW of maximum PV power, with either one BAT 6.0 (6.02kWh total, 5.84kWh usable) or one BAT 10.0 (9.04kWh total, 8.76kWh usable). The 14.16kWp kit uses the EC 12.0 TP, rated 12kW with three trackers and 19.2kW of PV, with two or three BAT 10.0 modules for 18.08 or 27.12kWh. Sigenergy rates each BAT 6.0 at 3,000W and each BAT 10.0 at 4,600W of continuous charge and discharge power.

Backup and energy management

Backup operation needs a Sigen Gateway, which switches the backup loads with 0ms disruption and can control a generator; zero export and partial backup use a Sigen power sensor at the grid connection point. Off-grid, the controller supplies twice its nominal power for 10 seconds. In the mySigen app the owner chooses self-consumption, time-based control, full feed-in, Sigen AI or remote EMS, sets a backup reserve and limits import peaks with peak shaving.

Installation and what to add

Controller and modules are IP66, but Sigenergy asks for a sheltered spot out of direct sun and rain, at least 500m from the coast and never in vehicles or boats. Up to six modules stand on the floor or two hang on a wall; each BAT 10.0 weighs 78kg. Sigenergy recommends a 25A AC switch for the 6kW model and 32A for the 12kW model, with copper AC cable. The installer adds PV mounting, string cabling, AC protection, gateway or sensor where required and the grid connection paperwork.
