Overview

SigenStor BAT 6.0 is the smaller of Sigenergy's two current stackable home battery modules: 6.02kWh of lithium iron phosphate storage, 5.84kWh of it usable, with 3,000W continuous and 4,500W 10-second charge and discharge power. At 62kg it is the lighter option for wall mounting, where up to two modules are allowed. Between one and six modules sit under a SigenStor EC controller or a SigenStor BC, so a full stack of BAT 6.0 reaches 36.12kWh, and it can share a stack with BAT 10.0 modules.

  • 314Ah LiFePO4 cells, 100% depth of discharge
  • 5.84kWh or 8.76kWh usable per module
  • 1–6 modules per controller, two pack models mixable
  • Built-in battery optimiser in every pack
  • IP66, natural convection, -20…+55°C operation
  • Tested to IEC 62619 and IEC 63056

How it works

SigenStor BAT modules are the storage building blocks of Sigenergy's residential SigenStor system. They stack on a common base: either a SigenStor EC energy controller sits directly on top of the stack, or a SigenStor BC battery controller links the stack to a wall-mounted Sigen Hybrid SP2 or TP2 inverter. One controller manages one to six modules, so capacity grows in steps of about 6kWh or 9kWh.

Every pack contains its own battery optimiser, a DC-DC stage that lets packs share the load without being matched by age or charge level. Sigenergy's SP2/TP2 user manual allows two different pack models in one system, for example BAT 6.0 together with BAT 10.0. The packs are rated for 100% depth of discharge; after a full discharge the battery must be recharged within seven days.

Key features

Both models use 314Ah lithium iron phosphate cells. BAT 6.0 holds 6.02kWh (5.84kWh usable) and delivers 3,000W continuous or 4,500W for 10 seconds; BAT 10.0 holds 9.04kWh (8.76kWh usable) with 4,600W continuous and 6,900W peak. The cell maker rates the cells for 10,000 cycles at 25°C and 0.5C down to 60% state of health. Each housing measures 767×270×265mm and is cooled by natural convection.

Installation and compatibility

Compatible inverters are the SigenStor EC series and, through the mandatory SigenStor BC, the Sigen Hybrid SP2/TP2 series. The controller sets the DC window: 300–600V in single-phase and 600–900V in three-phase systems. Up to six modules can stand on the floor and up to two can be wall-mounted; a lift is required from the third module. Between SigenStor BC and inverter Sigenergy specifies 6mm² PV copper cable and shielded CAT6 data cable, each up to 20m.

The IP66 stack runs from -20 to +55°C and up to 4,000m, yet Sigenergy asks for a sheltered spot out of direct sun, rain and standing water, at least 500m from corrosive sources such as the seashore, and never in caravans, boats or other vehicles. Indoors, operation must not raise the room temperature by more than 3°C, otherwise power is derated.

Monitoring and settings

The battery is commissioned and monitored through its inverter in the mySigen app, where the installer creates the system and the owner chooses operating modes such as self-consumption, time-based control or Sigen AI mode, plus a backup reserve when a Sigen Gateway is installed. A light strip on the SigenStor BC shows standby, charging, discharging and fault states at a glance.

Questions and answers

Can BAT 6.0 and BAT 10.0 modules be combined?

Yes. Each pack has its own optimiser, and Sigenergy's SP2/TP2 user manual allows two different pack models in one system. A single controller accepts up to six packs in total.

Which inverters work with SigenStor BAT?

The SigenStor EC energy controllers, and the Sigen Hybrid SP2 and TP2 inverters through a SigenStor BC battery controller, which is mandatory for SP2/TP2. Sigenergy's SigenStor Home manuals also list the earlier Sigen Hybrid SP and TP inverters once a battery licence has been purchased and activated.

How much storage can one controller handle?

Six BAT 10.0 modules give 54.24kWh total or 52.56kWh usable; six BAT 6.0 modules give 36.12kWh total or 35.04kWh usable. Sigenergy allows up to 20 SigenStor units to be cascaded for larger systems.

Can the battery stack be installed outdoors?

Yes, the stack is rated IP66 for indoor or outdoor use. Sigenergy still recommends a sheltered location away from direct sunlight, rain and snow, and at least 500m from the coast or other corrosion sources.
