Overview

The Sigen Hybrid 8.0 TP2 provides 8kW nominal and 8.8kVA maximum three-phase output with up to 13.4A per phase. Up to 16kW of PV can be connected on two trackers, each limited to one 16A string. Efficiency is 99.0% maximum and 98.5% European. With a SigenStor BC and a SigenStor BAT stack it runs as a hybrid system, and in backup mode with a Sigen Energy Gateway it delivers 16kW for 10 seconds. Sigenergy recommends a 25A AC switch and 4mm² copper AC cable.

How it works

The Sigen Hybrid TP2 is a wall-mounted three-phase inverter that runs as a plain PV inverter or, with a SigenStor BC battery controller and one to six SigenStor BAT modules, as a hybrid inverter with storage. The battery stack is a separate unit linked by DC and CAT6 cables, so inverter and battery can be placed independently. Seven sizes cover 3.0 to 12.0kW of AC output on 220/380, 230/400 or 240/415V grids.

For backup the TP2 works with a Sigen Energy Gateway, which switches the house loads to inverter and battery with 0ms load-side disruption. In off-grid operation the inverter delivers twice its nominal power for 10 seconds to start motors and compressors. A Sigen power sensor at the grid connection point measures import and export, which is needed for zero-export operation.

Key features

Every model accepts PV power up to twice its AC rating, for example 24kW on the 12.0 TP2. The MPPT range is 160–1,000V with 180V start-up and 1,100V maximum input. Up to 8.0kW each tracker takes one 16A string; the 10.0 and 12.0 TP2 add a third input, with PV2 and PV3 sharing MPPT2 at 32A and each tracker limited to 6.66kW or 8kW. Protection includes AFCI, residual current and insulation monitoring, and type II DC/AC surge arresters.

Installation and compatibility

The 477×568×99mm housing weighs 19.5kg, is cooled by natural convection at 28dB and is rated IP66 for -30 to +60°C up to 4,000m. Sigenergy recommends five-core copper AC cable of 4mm² for 3–8kW and 6mm² for 10–12kW, an AC switch rated at least 415V with 10A, 16A, 25A or 32A depending on size, and 4–6mm² PV cable. Supported earthing systems are TN-S, TN-C, TN-C-S, TT and IT.

The site must be sheltered from direct sun, rain and snow, at least 500m from corrosive sources such as the seashore, and not inside vehicles or boats. Up to 20 Sigen Hybrid inverters can be cascaded. The datasheet lists IEC/EN 62109-1/-2 for safety and IEC/EN 61000-6-1/-2 for EMC; Sigenergy refers to its download centre for country grid certificates.

Monitoring and settings

Communication runs over WLAN, Fast Ethernet, RS485 or the optional Sigen CommMod 4G module. The installer creates the system in the mySigen app; the owner then selects self-consumption, time-based control with up to 24 periods, full feed-in, Sigen AI or remote EMS mode, sets a backup reserve and can enable peak shaving. The COM port reserves digital inputs for ripple control or DRM signals and two dry contacts for smart loads.
