A pallet of 36 Jolywood Niwa Black JW-HD108N-R2-500 modules, 18kWp in total. The 108-cell transparent black module measures 1,960×1,134×30mm and delivers 500Wp at 22.5% efficiency, with 39.03V Voc and 15.78A Isc. Its n-type TOPCon cells have a -0.28%/°C temperature coefficient and 80±5% bifaciality. With 500Wp per module, round system sizes are simple: twenty modules make 10kWp, and the full-black look suits visible residential roofs.

Formats in this range

The Niwa series is Jolywood's residential module line, built on its own n-type J-TOPCon cells with ultra-thin busbars and a black anodised aluminium frame. The JW-HD96N-R2 has 96 cells in a 1,762×1,134×30mm format and covers 445–470Wp; the JW-HD108N-R2 has 108 cells in 1,960×1,134×30mm and covers 500–525Wp. Niwa Black is the transparent black version for an all-dark roof appearance, Niwa Pro the black-frame version; both share the same electrical data.

Both are glass-glass modules with 2.0mm heat-strengthened glass on each side, an IP68 junction box with three diodes and 4mm² cables of 1,200mm (96-cell) or 1,300mm (108-cell). Jolywood rates them for 1500V DC, a 35A series fuse and 5400Pa front and 2400Pa rear static load, and lists IEC 61215:2021, IEC 61730:2023, IEC 61701 and IEC 62716.

Electrical behaviour

Jolywood states that n-type cells are free from light-induced degradation and quotes a Pmax temperature coefficient of -0.28%/°C, a Voc coefficient of -0.25%/°C and +0.045%/°C for Isc, with a nominal operating cell temperature of 45±2°C. Bifaciality is 80% with ±5% tolerance, and the datasheets tabulate output at 10% to 30% rear-side gain. The bifacial dual-glass build is also intended for vertical installation and snowy, sandy or humid sites.

Installation notes from the manual

Jolywood's double-glass installation manual allows landscape or portrait mounting, with at least four clamps per module installed symmetrically. Clamps should take at least an M8 bolt, be at least 60mm long and 4mm thick in 6063-T5 aluminium and overlap the frame by at least 8mm without touching the glass; bolts are tightened to about 16–20Nm. Design load is the test load divided by a 1.5 safety factor.

Between 50m and 500m from the sea the connectors must be protected with dust plugs until they are mated; closer than 50m Jolywood recommends dedicated offshore modules. When sizing strings, module Voc is multiplied by 1.25, and cabling should be 4mm² copper rated for at least 90°C.

Warranty and datasheet versions

All Niwa datasheets give a 30-year linear performance warranty. The product warranty depends on the datasheet version and market: the 2026.06 Niwa Black datasheets state 12 years, while the 2025.10 Niwa Black and 2026.06 Niwa Pro datasheets state 25 years. Weights also differ slightly between versions (24.4–24.6kg and 27.1–27.3kg), and the factory packing is 37 modules per pallet, 962 (96-cell) or 888 (108-cell) per 40ft HQ container.
