Overview

The SUN2000-215KTL-H0 provides 200kW nominal and 215kVA maximum output at 800V AC, with 144.4A nominal output current. Its nine MPP trackers take two strings each, 18 in total, at up to 1,500V, with 30A per tracker and 50A short-circuit current per tracker. Maximum efficiency is 99.0% and European efficiency 98.8%. Smart String-level Disconnection, a fuse-free design, IP66 and C5-Medium corrosion protection suit ground-mounted plants, and the unit weighs up to 86kg with its mounting plate.

How it works

The SUN2000-215KTL-H0 takes 18 strings on nine MPP trackers, two per tracker, at up to 30A and 50A short-circuit current per tracker. The tracking window runs from 500V to 1,500V with 550V start-up and 1,080V nominal input voltage. On the AC side it delivers 200kW nominal and 215kVA maximum at 800V, 3W+PE, with 144.4A nominal and 155.2A maximum output current and THDi below 1% at rated power.

Smart String-level Disconnection (SSLD), string fault detection, DC reverse-polarity and AC overcurrent protection, DC insulation monitoring and a residual current detection unit are integrated, with Type II surge arresters on both DC and AC sides. The design needs no string fuses, and Smart I-V curve diagnosis checks strings remotely. Smart air cooling, IP66 and C5-Medium anti-corrosion protection allow operation from -25°C to +60°C up to 4,000m without derating.

Installation and compatibility

The inverter is designed for the IT earthing system and a dedicated step-up transformer; it must not share a transformer winding with other inverter models or connect to low-voltage overhead lines. Each unit needs its own three-phase AC switch. Because of its output resonance protection, Huawei requires at least 10m of cable between each inverter and the AC combiner box or transformer low-voltage panel, or 20m in total for two adjacent inverters.

String open-circuit voltage must never exceed 1,500V, and strings on the same MPPT need the same number of identical modules. Where Y-branch connectors are used, the manual names recommended models with 15A or 20A fuses, connected preferably to the MPPTs of DC switches 1 and 2, with the harness kept off the ground and secured to relieve the DC terminals. DC connectors are Staubli MC4 EVO2.

Monitoring and settings

Local settings are made over WLAN with the app, and plant communication uses RS485 or MBUS power-line communication, with a USB port for maintenance. Advanced settings include night-time reactive power compensation where the grid operator requires it, and operation with an external PID module, with automatic shutdown if PID compensation becomes abnormal. The datasheet lists IEC 62109-1/-2, IEC 62920, EN 50549-2 and EN 50530 among its standards; confirm national grid certificates with Huawei.
