Overview

A single-phase home kit: 7.08kWp of PV, the Huawei SUN2000-6K-LB0 hybrid inverter, a LUNA2000 battery with one or two 5kWh modules on its power module, a Huawei power meter and a protection box. The 6kW inverter has two 16A MPPTs from 40V to 560V and charges the battery at up to 6kW, also from the grid. Huawei recommends up to 9kWp of PV for it. Backup needs the SmartGuard-63A-S0, which is not included.

How the kits work

Each kit combines a Huawei SUN2000 hybrid inverter, a LUNA2000 battery, a Huawei power meter for export control and protection boxes. The inverter converts PV power, charges the battery, also from the grid if set, and feeds the house and the grid. LUNA2000 stacks consist of a power module and one to three battery modules; the power module connects to the inverter at 350–560V on single-phase models and 600–980V on three-phase models, so the same battery family serves both.

Inverter options

The single-phase SUN2000-6K-LB0 has two 16A MPPTs from 40V to 560V and charges at up to 6kW. The three-phase SUN2000-10K-MAP0 accepts 1100V on two MPPTs and charges at up to 12kW. The SUN2000-20K-MB0 has two MPPTs with two strings each at 30A and two battery terminals, so it can manage up to four LUNA2000 systems and charge at 21kW on one battery string or 25kW on two.

Battery configurations

Huawei's LUNA2000 battery modules hold 5kWh or 6.9kWh at 100% depth of discharge. Up to three modules sit on one power module, and 6.9kWh modules belong to the S1 range with the LUNA2000-10KW-C1 power module, which delivers 3.5kW per module and heats the cells in cold conditions. Modules are IP66 and can be installed indoors or outdoors on the floor stand or an optional wall bracket.

Installation and what to add

Huawei recommends dedicated AC breakers per model (32A for the 6K-LB0 and 10K-MAP0, 40A for the 20K-MB0 in on-grid use) and an RCD of at least 100mA (single-phase) or 300mA (three-phase) where one is fitted. Backup operation requires a Huawei SmartGuard, which is not part of the kits. The installer adds mounting structures, cabling, the grid connection request and, for remote access over Ethernet or 4G, a Smart Dongle.
