Who we areNew, original Hoymiles products with full manufacturer warranty, supplied with their documentation.
The HIS-3L-G3 is the 3kW entry model of Hoymiles' single-phase low-voltage hybrid range. It delivers 3000W (3300VA maximum) to the grid, charges a 40–60V battery at up to 75A (3000W) and accepts a PV array of up to 6000W, Hoymiles' recommended maximum, on two 18A MPPT inputs. In a grid outage the backup port supplies 3000W continuously and 6000VA for 10s. Natural convection cooling and a 17kg IP66 housing suit compact domestic installations with a smaller battery bank.
The HIS-L-G3 series links a PV array, a low-voltage battery and a single-phase L/N/PE grid connection in one wall-mounted unit. Two MPPT trackers accept strings up to 550V, with a 90–500V tracking range. The battery port works from 40V to 60V, takes lithium-ion or lead-acid batteries and follows the BMS over CAN. Loads on the EPS port stay powered during a grid failure, with a switch-over time below 10ms, and a separate GEN port accepts a generator.
In grid-connected operation the installer chooses between Self-consumption, Economy, Backup, Peak shaving and Time-of-use modes; an Off-grid mode covers sites without a grid. Economy and Time-of-use modes accept up to eight configurable 24-hour schedules for cheap-rate charging. Peak shaving holds the power drawn from the grid below a set limit while PV and battery cover the rest. The energy manager can also control a heat pump and smart loads through dry contacts.
All models share 97.7% maximum and 97.0% European efficiency, a 50A AC bypass and natural convection cooling in a 506×495×99mm, 17kg IP66 housing. The backup output can deliver twice its rated power for 10s to start motors and compressors. Up to 10 inverters can run in parallel in both on-grid and off-grid systems; off-grid systems with more than two units need an external contactor. Protection includes a residual current monitoring unit, insulation detection and type II surge protection on DC and AC.
Mount the inverter vertically, or tilted back by up to 15°, out of direct sun and rain, with at least 500mm of free space around it and between units. It works from -25°C to +65°C, derating above 45°C, up to 4000m. The box contains a DTS-WL-G3 data stick, a smart meter and the communication cables. Hoymiles recommends 10mm² copper for the grid, EPS and GEN cables and 16–50mm² battery cables, depending on the model.
Compatible batteries are listed by Hoymiles with a minimum firmware for each: they include the Hoymiles LB-6D-G3, LB-10D-G3 and LB-16D-G3 and models from BYD, Dyness, Pylontech, Pytes and other brands. Hoymiles states that an incompatible battery voids the inverter warranty. The datasheet lists G98, G99, G100, EN 50549-1/-10, CEI 0-21, IEC 62116 and IEC 61727 among the grid standards, and IEC 62109-1/-2 for safety.
The data transfer stick connects the inverter to S-Miles Cloud through Wi-Fi or a LAN cable, with 4G available as an option; one stick serves up to 10 inverters. Through the S-Miles app the installer selects the meter type and CT ratio, sets export limitation or zero export, assigns dry-contact functions and configures the generator, including exercise runs and automatic start by battery state of charge. The G3 version shows status on LEDs; the G3S version adds an LCD.
Low-voltage batteries from 40V to 60V with CAN communication that appear on Hoymiles' compatible battery list, such as the LB-6D-G3, LB-10D-G3 and LB-16D-G3. Lead-acid batteries are also supported with a three-stage charging curve.
Loads wired to the EPS port are supplied from PV and battery when the grid fails, with a switch-over time below 10ms. For 10s the backup output can deliver twice the rated power.
Yes. Up to 10 units can be paralleled on-grid or off-grid. Off-grid systems with more than two units require an external contactor, and Hoymiles recommends identical models and firmware.
Yes. According to the user manual, the delivery includes a smart meter, the meter and parallel communication cables and a DTS-WL-G3 data transfer stick.
