Who we areNew, original GoodWe products with full manufacturer warranty, supplied with their documentation.
The GW8.3-BAT-D-G20 is the 8.32kWh module of the GoodWe ESA storage system, part of the Lynx D G2 range. With 8kWh usable it supplies 8kW continuously and 12kW for 10 seconds, so three modules already cover the charging power of a 20kW power module. Integrated heating allows charging from -18°C and an aerosol extinguisher is built in. At 79kg it is the heavier option; wall-mounted systems with 8.32kWh modules are limited to two per stack and six in total.
ESA stands for an energy storage all-in-one: the inverter, called the power module, sits on top of a stack of Lynx D G2 battery modules and connects to them through blind-mate connectors, so no DC cabling is run between inverter and batteries. ETA models are hybrid inverters with three or four MPP trackers; BTA models are AC-coupled versions without PV inputs, intended for adding storage to an existing PV system.
The battery side works at 700–950V in three-phase systems. Modules of different capacities can be mixed, from a single 5.12kWh module up to twelve, or 5 to 108kWh. Each power module has a GRID port and a BACK-UP port; an internal bypass of 63A (5–20kW) or 80A (25–30kW) lets the BACK-UP port carry the whole house, switching to battery power in less than 4ms when the grid fails.
Hybrid models accept up to twice their rated power in PV, at 120–950V MPPT range and 1000V maximum, and charge the battery at up to 1C. Off-grid, the backup output can be overloaded for 10 seconds, for example to 20kVA on the 10kW model. Working modes include self-consumption, backup, time-of-use, delayed charging, peak shaving and off-grid. The battery modules integrate heating for charging from -18°C and an aerosol fire-extinguishing unit.
A floor-standing system takes up to three groups and twelve modules; wall-mounted systems are limited to nine 5.12/6kWh modules, or six when 8.32/9kWh modules are used. Without batteries the power module must stand on the supplied base and works grid-tied only. A built-in meter with a 120A/40mA CT is included; for whole-home backup no external meter is needed, while GMK330 or GM330 meters are used for generators or larger parallel systems.
Up to ten power modules of different sizes can run in parallel, each with a WiFi/LAN Kit-20, both on-grid and off-grid. Optional GW30K-STS-G10 or GW60K-STS-G10 transfer cabinets add a SMART-PORT for a generator or large loads. An existing grid-tied PV inverter can be connected to the GRID port (coupling) or to the BACK-UP port (microgrid, single unit only). CEI 0-21 and CEI 0-16 certificates cover the power modules with the battery modules.
Configuration and monitoring are done with the SEMS+ app and portal over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LAN or an optional 4G dongle, and the system supports Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP for third-party energy management. The datasheet lists one-click configuration and upgrade, and readiness for an AI-driven EMS for dynamic tariffs. After first commissioning the system fully charges the battery once to calibrate the BMS.
ETA power modules are hybrid inverters with PV inputs and a DC switch. BTA power modules are AC-coupled and have no PV input; they charge the battery from the AC side, for example from an existing PV inverter.
Yes. Modules of different capacities and ages can be mixed. Battery heating is not available if modules with and without the heating film are combined, and mixed systems need BMS and DCDC software V06 or later.
From one module up to twelve, between 5 and 108kWh. Floor-standing systems take up to twelve modules in three groups; wall-mounted systems are limited to nine or six modules depending on module size.
Yes. The internal 63A or 80A bypass lets the BACK-UP port supply the whole house, switching over in under 4ms. GoodWe recommends breakers of 63A to 125A for this configuration, depending on the power module.
GoodWe publishes CEI 0-21 and CEI 0-16 certificates covering the ETA and BTA power modules together with the GW5.1, GW6.0, GW8.3 and GW9.0 battery modules.
