Overview

The GW10K-ET-20 is the 10kW ET G2 model and the first in the range with three MPP trackers, each taking 16A. It accepts up to 16kW of PV, which suits larger roofs split over several orientations. The battery input handles 40A, 15kW charging and 11kW discharging, and the three-phase backup delivers 10kVA continuously and 18kVA for 60 seconds off-grid. Maximum efficiency is 98.2%, European efficiency 97.5%.

How it works

The ET G2 is GoodWe's second-generation three-phase hybrid inverter for 400V grids. It combines a PV inverter with two or three MPP trackers and a bidirectional converter for one high-voltage battery input (150–720V, 500V nominal). Solar energy supplies the loads first, then charges the battery, and any surplus is exported; when PV falls short, the battery and then the grid cover demand.

During a grid outage the BACK-UP port takes over in less than 10ms, so connected loads see a UPS-grade transfer. Both the grid and the BACK-UP side accept unbalanced loads, from 3kW per phase on the GW6000-ET-20 to 5kW per phase on the 10–15kW models. A dry contact drives an external contactor to switch a heat pump or other loads by schedule, manually or when backup capacity runs low.

Key features

Operating modes include self-consumption, backup, time-of-use, delayed charging for export-limited sites, demand control and off-grid operation. The PV input accepts up to 160% of the rated output, each tracker takes 16A (24A short-circuit) and the maximum input voltage is 1000V. The IP66 housing is cooled by natural convection without fans and integrates Type II surge protection on DC and AC; arc-fault detection to IEC 63027 is available on AFCI versions.

Installation and compatibility

GoodWe approves its Lynx Home F, Lynx Home F G2, Lynx D (LX D5.0-10) and Lynx D G2 batteries plus listed third-party HV batteries such as BYD Battery-Box Premium HVS and HVM; the battery compatibility overview gives the firmware each pairing needs. For Italy, CEI 0-21 certificates are published for the ET G2 with Lynx D, Lynx F G2, BYD HVS, BYD HVM and Pylontech Force H1, H2 and H3.

An energy meter is built in and a 90A/90mA CT is supplied; a GM330 or GM3000 meter can be added if the built-in one does not suit the site. Up to four inverters, also of different sizes, can run in parallel with identical firmware, networked through an Ezlink3000 on the master unit or an EzManager3000. Where an RCD is required, GoodWe recommends type A, 300mA on the grid side and 30mA on the backup side.

Monitoring and settings

Commissioning and monitoring use the SEMS+ app and web portal through the WiFi/LAN Kit-20 dongle, which also offers Bluetooth for local set-up. The inverter talks to the battery BMS over CAN or RS485 and to an external meter over RS485. After first commissioning the system performs one full battery charge to calibrate the BMS, then follows the selected operating mode.
